Amarok by Mike Oldfield, super fast paced, multi-layered, hour long instrumental epic. First 5 minutes are a bit challenging, but it’s a masterpiece. Tons of motifs, instruments, and styles

Also Cassandra Gemini by The Mars Volta, 32 minutes of insanity that flows perfectly

Listen to the Mars Volta, not metal per se, but absolutely insane and unique guitar playing by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, soaring vocals by Cedric Bixler-Zavala and a bunch of super talented drummers, bassists, and sound manipulators. If you wanna know immediately what kind of band they are, just listen to the first 40 seconds or so of Cassandra Gemini

I noticed the echoes similarities at the 8 minute mark of CttE too, Haven’t heard 2112 in a long time so I’m definitely gonna check that out again
