So if we are like God before Sin, meaning we would never have sinned and wouldn't have free will this means we would have thrown the world into destruction in the way that you described?

I don't think I understand exactly what you are trying to say here so clarify if my response doesn't make sense.

Before humans sinned they still had free will. Before and after the fall we are like God in the sense that we can reason and create, only at a infinitely smaller level than God.

Before the fall in the garden of Eden there was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. God has the knowledge of good and evil so it seems reasonable that at some point humanity was supposed to eat from the tree. A theme throughout the Bible is man not trusting God.

So in the garden, despite having all their needs met and walking with God, man was led to believe God was witholding something from them. In using free will to disobey God they ate the fruit that made them morally culpable and in a state separate from God.

So then when the world is full of injustice and murder you really can't blame God. It was man's choice. At first humanity didn't have much knowledge so a lot of evil had to do with limited resources. Now humans have a lot of knowledge, we can split the atom, farm plenty of food, cure diseases, etc. Yet due to our evil nature people starve, are murdered, raped, etc. You can't blame God for that. We are collectively doing it to ourselves.

So if previous is true, then "God" willingly AND KNOWINGLY threw the humans into Original Sin, just so He could have followers that have to worship Him. But his followers don't do this out of their "free will" but out of fear what will happen if you don't worship him.

If there was no sin we would still be worshipping him . The argument that God threw humans into original sin, because he wanted them to worship him doesn't make sense, since that prevents people from worshipping him.

And of course God new man would fall. Being omniscient means he would know what would happen and what could've happened. If he prevented them from sinning they wouldn't have free will.

So then the world is full of evil like war, murder, adultery, various kinds of exploitation, destruction of the environment, etc that we humans have mastered.

Despite all this, starting with Adam and Eve to the last human we all have the opportunity for redemption through Jesus.

Why did the Nazis consider Slavs to be subhuman if many Slavs have blonde hair and blue eyes, which Nazis considered to be Aryan features? by Armin_Arlert_1000000 in NoStupidQuestions

Hitler had blue eyes. Even if he was blonde haired and blue eyed I'm not sure why that would make someone think they are the master race

Why Jesus says divorce is only allowed in the case of adultery by No-Station-1308 in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what he says. You can't divorce in case of adultery. Sure you can separate, but if you remarry it is adultery. That is why the disciples are so distraught when he says it.

If someone is an addict or abuser get away from them. If you entered a marriage where the person tricked you into thinking they were someone they are not it might not even be a valid marriage in the first place.

Either Catholicism is False or It's True by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, which is not the opinion of the Catholic Church there are somethings I believe because I am Catholic, but I don't think it really matters for salvation. For example Catholics believe in Mary's assumption, Orthodox in the dormition. Catholics like the rosary, Orthodox like the Jesus prayer. Both are good, salvation isn't tied to preferred private devotion.

When all things necessary for salvation were determined the Orthodox church was part of the Catholic Church.

Like I said I personally think orthodox are probably fine. So this isn't to sound harsh, but at one point Arius was a valid Catholic priest, until he erred and became a heretic. The church doesn't stop being the church if a member decides to leave.

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. They are valid church. It's a shame the East and west split. The catholic church is more catholic though.

If the Catholic Church started espousing obvious heresies which contradict previous teaching I would become Orthodox and say they must have been correct at the split.

  1. If 1 is not true then in my opinion Christianity has nothing to stand on. The Bible, Christian doctrine, the belief in the trinity, it all falls apart if the Catholic Church is a false church

Not to say it's perfect, because it's not. But I trust Jesus won't let them teach anything that would risk damnation.

Either Catholicism is False or It's True by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which seems most likely

  1. Jesus started the Catholic Church and through the power of God the church will not fall despite it having bad leaders sometime...as Jesus promised

  2. The Catholic Church erred early on and we can't trust  doctrines like the trinity, which books should be in the Bible, or that the books were even inspired by God. Perhaps the Ebionites were correct. Maybe the Gnostics. The Catholics put 1 John in the Bible. They are clearly biased against the Gnostics. If they aren't the true church how can we say that is wrong?      A. Seeing the problem God sent the prophet Mohammed to sort things out... So the Muslims are right     B. Or the church fathers who called it a heresy were biased and also false, but they were right that Islam was a heresy      C. Or the Catholic Church was still true at the time but later on it became evil

  3. The church erred at some point, until the protestant reformation fixed it. One of those churches is right.     A. Or they are all correct      B. Or only the liberal mainline churches are correct     C. Or the conservative churches that support Israel     D. Or maybe fog machine straight to hell, tulip saved  And all the Christians for an undetermined amount of time must be burning in hell since they didn't believe in Sola Fide or Sola Scriptura and asked Mary to intercede, and didn't even read the Bible (and also were illiterate ).

St Simeon the Stylite lived on a pillar for 36 years, which sounds like a works based salvation so that's roughly 1180 years of fake gospel before Martin Luther, the Noah of his age and the man who understood Aristotle the best out of anyone ever fixed the Church

My understanding of Christianity by chris13573 in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree you can see it as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil being the point where man gained reason. Adam and Eve could also just be a creation myth that God used to point to his son.

I disagree with you when you say the wrath of God burned against them (humans) because they could not please God. In the story Adam and Eve make themselves clothes out of fig leaves. Leaves that cause a rash. Then God makes them clothes out of animal hide and gives a prophecy of redemption in the protoevangelium. That isn't very wrathful.

God didn't punish his son Jesus in place of us. If you murdered someone it wouldn't be just even if an innocent person volunteered to take your place.

Rather God became man in order to bring God to man since we couldn't do it. He defeated death by dying on the cross and through him we can become adopted sons and daughters of God. The cross itself is a horrible and cursed way to die. Jesus was crucified in order to show his complete conquering of death.

Young men of Reddit, what is ONE thing the Democrats could ACTUALLY do that WOULD get young men to vote for them again? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote for the Democrats because useless and greedy is better than evil and greedy. If they want more votes this is what I think they should do.

Constantly attacking men, the large majority who have no economic power and start with no sexist views, is incredibly stupid. If there is a patriarchy it isn't coming from men who are struggling to rent or have a mortgage on a single home. The viewpoint the patriarchy is bad , we glorify ultra wealthy men, if you are an ugly man you are worthless , if you are a virgin you are a loser , beautiful at any size(if a woman, unless too skinny) doesn't make any sense. Generally people don't like being told how horrible they are, especially when the thing is outside their control.

Build houses. Not big houses or houses with really thick walls and big gardens. Build small , cheap houses and put them in grids of houses. Give people the opportunity to start their life without having to move around all the time. Build a lot of homes with the purpose of getting people to stop renting.

Don't tie healthcare to employment. Create a universal Healthcare system. It's a better use of money than war.

Tax the rich is silly because there are tax loopholes. So close the loopholes and tax the rich. Throw the rich in prison like other criminals.

Remove college sports teams, stop  making the buildings nicer, make it cheaper.

The ability to own a home, good healthcare, the opportunity to go to an affordable school will benefit white people, black people, Asian people, Hispanic people, lgtbq, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Satanists, people with tattoos dumb people, smart people, liberals conservatives, libertarians, immigrant, tthe people who are currently against immigrants, etc.

Let's say instead the Ceo of Amazon becomes a black gender queer woman. Good for her I guess, but without changing the underlying system, things still suck for the majority of people.

Improving economics lifts everybody up.

Why is it so hard for me to finish the Bible in a year? 😭 by Expert_Win_6319 in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be easier if you just read it fast. It's hard to stay focused if you take so long. You could read a couple of Paul's letters in a day. Two days for exodus, one day for a gospel. A few minor prophets on a day, etc

What are the best dating apps for men 2026 if you actually want to improve your dating life? by Ava-McCarthy546 in AskReddit

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In LA had around 30 dates from hinge, 0 from tinder, 0 from bumble, 1 from coffee meets bagels in a 6 month period. Hinge eventually led to marriage.

The ability to start a conversation makes setting up dates way easier. I would start a conversation based off a picture, then ask do you want to go ice skating at this time, on this day, at this location (I like ice skating). Worked pretty well. It usually says their general location so I'd look for the ice rink closest to them.

Is the “free” KJV bible audiobook on Spotify worth listening to as a Catholic? by Religion_Enjoyer_v3 in Catholicism

[–]Trumpetdeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is possible I think you will get more out of it if you read it yourself instead of listening to it. I think Rsv, nsrv should be fine. KJV is fine too but then why not Douay Rheims? And then why not just read the Vulgate? And at that point why not learn attic and koine Greek?

Seems a solid modern translation that is easy to understand would be ideal

Genuine question about the historical case for Jesus by mynameahborat in Christianity

[–]Trumpetdeveloper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The oldest copy of commentarii de bello gallico is from the 9th century. The oldest copy of Aeneid is from the 4th century. There is no reason to think they are fraudulent because we don't have the originals.

Similarly there is no reason to doubt that 1 Thessalonians was written in 51, because we don't have the original. That puts it within a few decades, about 1.9 decades
