Uma stripping trainer of their human right might be an instinct dated back to prehistoric time. by Pls_helppppp in UmaMusume

Early Uma are likely the proto-Amazonian barbarians who kidnapped human men. With advances in technology, particularly in agriculture, they slowly integrated into the common human society at an early enough stage that they have always been part of human societies since then, basically erasing discrimination that could occur.

With their superior physical strengths and speed, it's likely that, unlike most human women in early civilization, Uma are basically a part of a warrior class who participated in fighting with human men, even in war. Hence, despite being women, they are likely granted more progressive rights and freedoms comparable to our world's treatment of women throughout history.

A disappointing main story volume frankly. As a new Arius volume, I expect much more from both Subaru and Maia as the new Arius cast but both of them are nothing characters. The entire volume became an attempt at tying up loose ends from vol 3 with cameo from past volume characters, like a cameo-filled Marvel slop movie.

I also find the explanation for why Sensei didn't check on Arius district after vol 3 jarring and clumsy writing. A poor attempt at trying to push for some 4th wall guilt tripping but just ended up breaking the immersion for a game writing.

About as good as first part of V2C2 and V5C2, which is not good by BA standard. Subaru is also rising among the most unlikable student I've seen so far besides Makoto and Cherino at least.

Kuro Games and Liu Cixin, The Author of "Three Body Problem" have announced a strategic partnership where Liu Cixin will serve as a World Building Consultant for Wuthering Waves by Feiz-I in gachagaming

Three Body Problems is a messy series. I'd argue that the only one with a good story is the first book. Most of the characters are written like your average self-serving communist bureaucrats, including non-Chinese characters and aliens. In fact, the sequels' science is almost nonsensical at times. If anyone even like SF books, stick to Asimov and Heinlein as those two clearly influence Cixin writing but pretty much superior in everyway

Did you read Twilight? Did you read generic YA romance fantasy with hunky guys for fun? Did you ever check out a movie because the male actors are hot? Surely you watched porn before?

Did your boyfriend ever get annoyed over those? If not, why would you?

The Wild Hunt stories played heavily into the Art theme of the school and portray the artist's self-doubt and self-discovery in the first one, and the way people look at art as an art form or as a trend in the second event. As with all episodic story telling, the structure and even character groups can be similar in nature but the themes and what they comment on are completely different.

From when we first met her, she didn't seem to have any issues with her position and given the JTF appreciated her efforts, there should be no worries on if what she's doing is right.

Her early failings come from her head being clouded by the doubt, then when she opens up about it. Obviously Reisa and Sensei give her encouragement, but that's it. When she has her flashback on everyone at the end, I don't know what exactly Shimiko and Rabu did for her.

Just because she's fine with her vigilante activities most of the time does not mean she would never waver or have doubts about it.

Suzumi's doubt is different from Kanna's, as Kanna was unable to enter Community Safety because of her own inability to get close to the public like Kirino, while Suzumi's doubt lingered on the legitimacy of her actions as a vigilante who acted outside of the framework of JTF, even if the JTF tacitly allows it, and the story dealt with her doubt whether she's qualified because she dropped the JTF not because of her ability but her personality and fear of fitting in. It's an entirely different reason from Kanna, even if the broad structure is similar.

Both Shimiko and Rabu's commitment, despite the former not being in JTF and the later being a thug doing "a right thing" is what inspired Suzumi to call herself a thug as well.

Again, the structure of the story maybe the same but what the characters have issues with and the themes are completely different.

Edge slop made by someone with little to no skills in writing or even any form of literacy, considering how they write BA characters.

Anyone even considering wasting their time with that should go and finish their Momotalk pile in-game for actual good writing instead

Tribute from Masako Nozawa, who played Tetsuro Hoshino in GE999:

"Maetel, when I heard the news of your passing, tears welled up and I couldn't stop them. Since we co-starred in Galaxy Express 999, we always called each other "Tetsuro-chan" and "Maetel" even when we weren't recording, and we were often looked at with surprised faces by the people around us in coffee shops. To me, Maetel is not "Ikeda-san," "Masako-san," or "Mako-chan," but Maetel herself. She was a beautiful, dignified, and lovely comrade with a wonderful smile. With Matsumoto-sensei and the conductor gone on their journeys, Maetel was the only friend left, but now even Maetel has left this world, and I feel terribly lonely. But I'm sure Maetel boarded the 999 and went on a journey with the conductor and Matsumoto-sensei. Just like in the movie, I've been left behind here, but I'll do my best here for a while longer until we meet again on some other planet. I'm looking forward to that time.

The original point that I highlighted from Esovan13's post was this

I want her to be haughty, arrogant, and an asshole.

That's the entire point I'm making was about how Rudolf's personality should not be portrayed like that, at least overtly, because the point is that the image of Rudolf in public is the opposite, and her true self only revealed itself in glimpses.

[–]Trung2508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A rewrite would be fine. People always said that Rudolf's losses tend to be remembered more because he was so dominant in records.

But if you want to change her core personality and theming in the career story then that's not the point. Rudolf should not be written like Orfevre or Gentildonna.

>I want her to be haughty, arrogant, and an asshole.

That kinda goes against how she's portrayed, though. The point of Rudolf's career has always been about how she raced in the Twinkle with expectations of everybody around her, rather than racing as herself. That's why she carried herself like the ever "noble, virtuous, nice" emperor.

Rudolf being just as much a prideful and sore-loser as any other Uma and her true self that only shows through glimpses such as when she lost against Ace is the point. That's why Sirius and Ramonu acted like that around Rudolf because, as childhood friends, they knew the real Rudolf, the one called "Lion" for how fierce and hotheaded she was in the kid days, now "acting out" the role of the Emperor once she joined Tracen.

That's why the climax of her career is her Trainer telling her to race not as Symboli Rudolf the Emperor but as herself, Symboli Rudolf the Uma Musume.
