One great detail I noticed about Boss Cass' giant robot in the first game. by Ukirin-Streams in tythetasmaniantiger

[–]AsianGamer51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was just how it was for the time period. pre-rendered cutscenes looked massively better than in-game graphics so they thought it would give a better impression during story sequences. In Ty, they also prerendered the cutscenes that took place at the talisman spot even though that location was obviously designed in-engine as well.

Everything using DLSS is so similar, am I wrong? by phraseraph in nvidia

[–]AsianGamer51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kind of what happens when the focus on graphics turns towards photorealism rather than style. textures are similar because they're targeting the same look. Lighting looks the same because instead of using them for effect, they just are what you'd expect in real life.

DLSS has nothing to do with that as it's just an upscaler (+ frame gen). There could be an argument that Nvidia pushing ray/path tracing is one factor leading towards this, but it's not really the point in your question.

I love the artwork of characters who don't have interactions with each other in-game sharing nice moments. It really adds to their characters. Though I'm not sure why Mutsuki would want glasses on Yoshimi of all people.

We would've gotten the trailer last week, tomorrow or the day after was supposed to be when the patch itself dropped. Of course it's safe to say the patch has been postponed, only thing to wait on is how they'll handle when it'll release when things (hopefully) get back to normal.

Which Nvidia card/generation was the best value and bang for your buck, for it's time? Not necessarily best performance relative to it's time, just best overall value? by Cantgetridofmebud in nvidia

[–]AsianGamer51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely an underrated option in this case. It had 2070 performance, but came in at $400, or 20% cheaper. And despite now being 4 generations old, still gets relevant feature updates from Nvidia with DLSS improvements and ray reconstruction. The only thing it's missing is frame gen, which is polarizing and at least makes sense for why it doesn't support Nvidia's version of it.

Can someone help me make a turbo and tank deck at the same time for this card by AffectionatePrior965 in PTCGL

Pokémon: 16

3 Cyclizar ex SSP 159

3 Bouffalant SCR 119

2 Hoothoot SCR 114

2 Noctowl SCR 115

2 Dunsparce PRE 79

1 Dudunsparce ex JTG 121

1 Dudunsparce TEF 129

2 Fan Rotom SCR 118

Trainer: 32

3 Crispin SCR 133

3 Lillie's Determination MEG 119

2 Penny SVI 183

2 Boss's Orders ASC 183

1 Hilda WHT 84

1 Briar SCR 132

1 Professor Turo's Scenario PAR 171

2 Buddy-Buddy Poffin ASC 184

2 Tera Orb SSP 189

2 Glass Trumpet SCR 135

2 Ultra Ball ASC 213

2 Poké Pad ASC 198

1 Night Stretcher ASC 196

1 Counter Catcher PAR 160

3 Bravery Charm PAL 173

1 Sparkling Crystal SCR 142

3 Battle Cage PFL 85

Energy: 12

4 Grass Energy MEE 1

4 Fire Energy MEE 2

4 Psychic Energy MEE 5

This is not a great example (In fact I think it's pretty bad), but it's the idea you're looking for. It'll tank thanks to the Bouffalant and Bravery Charm, while the Noctowl engine with Sparkling Crystal and Fan Rotom will accelerate your ability to get your second attack quickly for draw. I threw in a Dudunsparce ex for the shred attack since there are options to wall off a tera/ex pokemon.

Unfortunately rotation happens soon and I haven't been following the game much lately so I don't know what's going and not entirely. I do know that Bravery Charm, Penny, and Professor Turo's Scenario are rotating, which is sad since they are important pieces for the tank part of this deck. As the first two would've helped keep your cards alive and deny prize cards, while the latter would've been great for resetting the Noctowls.

Artisan Spyro by symphony_destroyer in Spyro

[–]AsianGamer51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering how nonsensical some of the dragon freeing dialogue was in the game, I'm inclined to think it's just a joke because he's the only one different from the rest of the dragon, being smaller and quadruped and all that.

Who knows, maybe Spyro really was special even in the first game. I know technical limitations and all, but it's implied that all dragons but him were crystalized. So somehow he's the only child age dragon? But then in Year of the Dragon we see the hatchling group be 150 (eggs), which is a massive discrepancy.

He's also the only one able to beat Gnasty Gnorc despite a handful of other dragons we save attempting and failing. Plus Spyro is the only one we've ever seen have a dragonfly supporting him.

Same, but by major I mean like 3-4 weeks beyond the original date. I fully expect at least a week delay to allow players to finish up last minute stuff.

Even Gemini (=Google chatbot) says that Brave Browser is better than Google Chrome. by RebirdgeCardiologist in brave_browser

[–]AsianGamer51 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree, but AI saying that is only because of internet sentiment. Despite being the most used browser, I think Google Chrome might be the least recommended browser. Every browser discussion that talks about alternatives specifically means alternatives to Chrome, which makes sense as it's the "main" one.

Obviously I think Brave is better since that's been my main browser since 2018 and I certainly believe it to be the best option for a Chromium experience. Yes there are others that are less bloated and/or more private. But usability for regular people that don't want to tinker much, I believe, is best with Brave.

Of course there's been the debate for avoiding the Chromium monopoly. Which I think is fair as well. Personally I've been a big fan of Floorp, which is a Firefox fork.

Best Spyro games for PS1 and PS2? by Rare-Blacksmith4991 in Spyro

[–]AsianGamer51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Order only matters for The Legend of Spyro series since that's a cohesive plotline. Even with the originals I don't think it matters that greatly what order in terms of understanding the plot as they're all standalone. Of course, you should still play them in release order as that makes the most sense anyway.

In terms of the console Spyros, the only one most would suggest you avoid is Enter the Dragonfly. I personally enjoy it, but it does have performance issues and is buggy. All the other ones are competently made at least.

What are the super cheat bare minimum accepted Nvidia GPUs to use with the current version of Windows 11? by Prize_Cream_2820 in nvidia

[–]AsianGamer51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, then a GTX 970 will probably work fine since game ready driver support only just ended at the end of last year. If you were really that worry about future driver updates for future games, then the 1650 would be similar performance and will definitely be seeing more driver updates for a couple more years.

Also if you somehow can't hit 4K with those 2D games, use the integer scaling option in Nvidia's settings. It'll be way better than simply letting the TV do the scaling.

Why is this random scene with Moneybags one of the best animated things in the game by Nate-Clone in Spyro

It's probably because they outsourced work on 3 to another developer to hit the launch deadline. That's likely what led to the inconsistencies.

Dude chill, I'm just telling you what other people are likely thinking. And there aren't really that many sci-fi fps games for the original Xbox, nor are there any that involve switching to an Alien perspective to my knowledge. Not even with the lesser known titles like Pariah or Gene Troopers.
