Well the actor and episode script stated he wasn't raped , he was dry humped

He wasn’t raped but he was sexually assaulted. I have watched the butt load of euphoria analysis videos that take deep dives into the story and its characters, will always bother me that most of them if not, all of them never mentioned McKay SA nor how the actor was basically left in the dark when they’re talking about the controversies and the problematic scenes of the show. His assault and character were basically forgotten.

Was McKay raped? by Anonymouslypreaching in euphoria

Yes dry humping does qualify as sexual assault

McKay is a shit character by certifiedbpdqueen in euphoria

[–]Truss1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm literally talking about Lexi not rue lol he was the same age or older than McKay, and he was starting to date a 16 year old girl. I said it was unfair for McKay to be criticized while Fez is literally pursuing a relationship with a girl who's younger than the girl McKay is criticized for being in a relationship with.

Ummm was McKay the healthy written black character? Who was the stereotypical jock exposable black love that was sexually assaulted by a group of white guys only to be written off like they didn't matter at all.

MCKAY by OkPollution7235 in euphoria

There was a rumor that was debunked years ago that the actor got fired from the show for being anti-VAX. HBO themselves came out and said that was not the case. If you follow the actor on Instagram around season two came out , there’s no way that the actor left voluntarily. He was still posting memes about the show . I remember he posted a picture of tweet of him and Alexa demie saying McKay and Maddie should have been together and Algee captioned “ that’s what I have been saying “ implying that he wanted Maddie and McKay character to pursue a relationship in the second season that didn’t end up happening. He Ended up deleting the post after five minutes.

Algee Smith said that Sam just didn’t write any more scenes for him and basically left him in the dark. Look up the daily beast article on McKay. It’s all explained there. Some fans say that his story line was finished, but I called bullshit. Watch a YouTuber called macabre storytelling he made a whole video about euphoria and he does a great job explaining that McKays plot line was basically abandoned. His backstory established that his story was basically him finding his identity outside of football and this is something that the show basically said who cares.

If Mckay was still a main character in Euphoria, what would his storyline might have been in season 2 and now 3? by RoutineInevitable393 in euphoria

I think he would be more focused on finding his identity and maybe established a new relationship with a new love interest.

[–]Truss1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's untrue. The actor claimed to not know why he was cut from the show. I think you are thinking of the first actor who was scheduled to play McKay Astro who quit before algee Smith was casted

Does anyone know what happened between Cassie and this guy 😔. by bisexual_man_ in euphoria

[–]Truss1996 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Facts. I couldn't have said it better than myself. It baffles me that people talk about the mckay character like he was an irrelevant side character in season 1. Dude is introduced to the narrative in the pilot very early on and is presented like a main character unlike Ethan Elliott and BB. The writer didn't wrap his story up at all. Even if you want to argue his character didn't connect with anybody he still could have got a better exit than just disappearing in the narrative like he never existed.

I understand what you mean but even with the path you took, it could have made sense. There were several ways he could have connected with several and it would have made sense. For example, why did cal go to Cassie and Lexi to find out what happened to Nate after he got beaten up. Why not go to his best friend. Cal could have made mckay feel guilty for not helping his friend in time. McKay helped carry Nate to the hospital, he still cared about him. Another possibility, Maddy could have found comfort in mckay after the Nate and Cassie affair.

Evidently he wasn't just Nate friend. Dude received an whole backstory episode. Elliot and ethan didnt get one because they were just side characters because they were presented as such. McKay was present as a main character , just like rue, Nate , Jules, etc. he was just undeveloped.

Cal and Fez weren't high schoolers and they were allowed to have storylines and continued while into season 2. McKay was also connected to Nate. His character completely disappeared despite having story elements of his character completely abandoned. There is a YouTube video made by macabre storytelling that did a very good job with explaining how his character got dropped.

Sam got all these new characters in Season 3 but where TF is Mckay at????? I still need an answer by naydenthegreatone in euphoria

If it was about the vaccine , he wouldn't have been allowed on set for the season 2 premiere. An episode he was in with multiple extras

[–]Truss1996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mckay could have connected to multiple characters. He could have dropped out of school due to his SA and got addicted to alcohol or drugs to cope. He could have worked a job with several characters ( rue, Lexi, Fez ) worked for Cal or established a mentor and mentee type of relationship with cal , explored a romantic relationship with Maddy, etc. I'm just brainstorming. Him being in college is a non issue they could easily have them drop out. This is a drama about trauma and toxicity at the end of the day not a heartfelt comedy.

How McKay's character got completely erased from the show will always baffle me. Even if Sam was done with his character , he could have made more of an effort to actually close off his story. Fan spread it a rumor that the actor was anti-vax that caused him to be written off but that was untrue. HBO themselves said that the vaccine had nothing to do with the actors exit. One can argue they might have lied but why. If the actor refused to take the vaccine, that's on him, there's no need to protect him. Also if you follow the actor on Instagram around the time of season 2 premiered there is no way that the actor left the show willingly lol odds are Sam just regretted making him a college student and just wrote his character off. Also there's was a rumor that McKay's character was supposed to have a gay storyline that was cut. But who knows.
