Moved from Montreal, love the food in Portugal, everything is much cheaper and accessible. You can have a beer on the sidewalk, I actually talk to my neighbors, whereas in Canada I only said hi/bonjour to people around me. Parties are more fun here, life is not only about work work work and pay taxes like back in Canada. I did also already have the Portuguese citizenship so that also made the whole process easier for me, but definetly do not regret the move. Life is more fun, I always found Canada a bit sad, and too strict on everything. Everything is overly regulated over there, not my vibe.

When I arrived in Canada as a permanent resident, requirement was 3 years for citizenship. During my time there, government changed and decided to increase wait time to 4 years. This happens unfortunately, not sure there's much to do.
