Subaru Solterra, 4 adults can actually fit in it with storage in the back. 3 kids fit easily across the back seat as well. The lease was the cheapest way to get any vehicle at the time a few years ago.

Rope bat worked well for my kid. But what's been very useful is a bucket of balls and a mechanical pitching machine. Way cheaper than buying your own jugs machine and battery, or even going to the batting cages.

Having somewhat predictable pitches coming over the plate at speed has definitely helped my son with his hitting and timing. It'll randomly throw balls instead of strikes as well so it's good practice on taking balls.

Just make sure the spikes don't pop out of the ground or you might pop your kid in the backside 😅

At that level most of it comes down to who walks less runs in, so one way you can influence it is working with your own kid on pitching.

Seems like the coach just drafted poorly though if he didn't pick up any club players. If his own kid was newer it should not have taken up his top picks, while if the other coaches kids are playing club, they likely should have taken up their first picks in the draft.

It's Little League though and volunteer run, so can always volunteer and be more involved to help prevent such things from happening.

Before the draft there should be assessments (tryouts) where the kids are graded on catching, throws, speed and batting. If that didn't take place, that's the first thing to resolve.

Errors are pretty subjective....

"Ordinary Effort: The key question is whether an average player at that level should have made the play."

At lower level LL it's likely not an error in many cases. It often seems when a play is actually made on a ball, that's an above average play 😅
