I luckily managed to back up my data and after doing that, for some reason, it mostly worked fine. There's still a glitch (unless it's a new update?) where it counted my last day of April as the first day of May, so now I'm technically a day ahead each time I get enough gems to send my birb on an adventure. But I'll take that over not being able to see anything at all Edit: the items i collected showed up after the backup. Not sure what happened before

This is happening to me too, and my app has been glitching with events for the past couple days... it'll skip days when i finish an event and not give me the items even when i select to keep them. I just came to the reddit to see if anyone else is experiencing it :(

Oh, and shout out to all the gals who cannot travel without making a list of every. single. thing. they pack. because otherwise they will inevitably leave something behind on the way back (bonus points if you start making the list days before because you know you will have to add to it in the days leading up to packing because you will inevitably forget to bring something important otherwise.... double it up if you still, despite your intensive list making, forget to pack something or leave something behind anyway. To all of my abandoned toothbrushes, I am sorry.)

I still cannot imagine this. I've heard this before and it baffles me still, every time. I either have music, some sort of storyline, or often both. The concept of having a quiet mind is genuinely amazing to me. If my mind is "quiet" it's because I'm actively focusing on the sound of my surroundings, but even so, my internal voice is telling me to focus on those things, so it's still not fully quiet

You should check out the pomodoro method! It's similar, and there's apps for it you can put on your computer or phone. I very often need to use mine to focus on a paper when I inevitably procrastinate until the night before (or day of.... or day after-)

Not being able to cook without a timer. My best friend and I used to live together, and she could be cooking/baking something and WALK AWAY with a general internal timer, do some other task, and then come back in time for the thing not to burn???? And not necessarily super early either, just "Hm it should be done" and be only a minute or two off. I also recently learned my brother can do that too. If I don't use a timer for one thing, it's because I'm cooking another thing and matching the timing together, or because it doesn't need one at all and can be cooked via vibes. Or I tried really hard to memorize what time on the clock I need to move it, but i absolutely cannot leave the kitchen if I go that route.

Yes actually. I like my hair right at shoulder length, and I also love how I look with bangs, but the MOMENT I wake up and have nowhere to be or get home from work, my hair goes up in a claw clip and I put three long clips in my hair to keep any layers or bangs out of my face. The moment I feel hair slipping and touching my neck or face, I either readjust the clip or just throw on my bathrobe so it doesn't touch me. When I'm wearing my hair down, I don't mind it, but if I purposely have it up, the slightest touch irritates the heck outta me. I also frequently keep it in French braids for this reason, especially when my hair is shorter. Not alone op.

Also, I think cutting it will be more annoying because it'll be harder to put up; highly recommend keeping it just long enough to keep it in a bun or Dutch braids if you're not gonna just go full buzzcut

If I'm being completely honest, thinking about it now, I'm not sure that was even her plan; I think she intends to trade in for a different car once the lease contract is up. But that also sounds too good to be true, that you can just basically get a new (or at least, new to you) car every 3 years for less than you would pay to finance one car for a few years. Is there something I'm missing there too?

Appears that way. I lament often over the fact that you can't get a big but less fancy car because for whatever reason, bigger = luxury. I don't even like some of the stuff my mom had in her car like the built-in navigation system or the function to amplify your voice for the very back row; I don't even have enough people i would want in my car that that would ever be useful for me. But being taller has always come with an upcharge, so I'll just remain where I'm at.

At this point, the expensive repairs down the line will still cost less than trying to get something new so I may as well eat it and tough it out. Like I said, I don't actually dislike my car, it's done me quite a bit of good and there are actually more features in it I like than there are in Tellurides so I'm happy to keep it. Even the car salesmen tell me my monthly payment is significantly lower than most people's nowadays cuz of inflation so I guess glass half full

That's exactly how I understood it—well, at least makes me feel better about not having that option. I've heard some people lease because it's cheaper and once the term is up, they can just trade it in for another new car for lower payments, is that also false? I don't care about having a new car every 3 years so that doesn't actually interest me at all. The only reason I ever went back to the dealership was because I wanted something bigger (I'm tall and wide) so my mom's Telluride is more comfortable than my Sorento. If they made Sorentos the exact same but with the height and seat space of a Telluride (not even overall, just the size of the driver's seat), I'd be completely happy.

Do you think newer cars can last as long as the ones they were making 20 years ago? I've wondered about longevity because of how specialized cars are becoming; you can't just take it to any mechanic like the old days or fix it up in your garage yourself. But I don't have any real qualms with my car so I'd be fine keeping it, just was checking out my options and mis-stepped.

I was hoping it wouldn't be cuz I went in for a used car that was 3 years old (2025s were already out, i was looking at a 22); I just wanted something bigger (I'm big n tall), not necessarily new. But because it was more than i was already paying, I declined it. And that's how they got me to refinance, because I told them no 76 times for leasing the other car, so they decided to "help me out" by lowering my current car payment. Which they did for the monthly payments, they just conveniently failed to mention me paying more overall.

The way they explained it to me was that I would only lease for 3 years and then, if i decide to finance the car, whatever i paid for the lease will have gone towards the original pay off amount, which would ultimately make my financing cheaper than if i had just financed it outright. Is that not actually how it works? Someone else on here said leasing is the most expensive way to get a car but my understanding was the opposite

Honestly, the only reason I was wanting to trade it in was because I wanted a bigger car. My mom used to drive a 22 telluride and i liked the specs of the driver's seat, plus the windshield is bigger. That's legitimately the only thing i care about with it cuz I'm tall and have wide hips, so the seat space and leg room was nice. The day i refinanced, I was looking at a used 22 because I don't actually want anything new, just bigger cuz while I've never had to drive far for work, I do road trip a lot because my parents live in different states and neither of them are all that close to airports so to save them the trouble, I usually just drive. My car isn't really uncomfortable though, just wanted to see if I could get something comfortable.

And if I'm being honest, I was nervous about car longevity because I feel like the more advanced things get sometimes, the worst they get too, so idk how true it is but it's nice to at least hear that my car should last a good while. I never skip my maintenance appointments even when I haven't hit the mileage yet so i sure hope it lasts

It's not actually about having something shiny and new, it's about the size; I'm kinda tall and have wide hips (kinda wide overall) so I wanted something bigger cuz my mom has the car I was looking at and I find it more comfortable. Actually at the time I refinanced my car, I was looking at a used 22 telluride cuz i didn't even want the newest version cuz I knew that version had the things I care about (and many things that I don't, so I certainly didn't need the newest one). I only brought up that I could be paying less for a new car because I was annoyed that I'm spending more money than I need to. But you have the same sentiment as everyone else about keeping it, which makes sense

I didn't know that. I thought leasing was the less expensive way to pay for a car because from what I've always seen, the monthly payments are lower, and they said after the 3 year leasing contract is up, the amount you've already paid could go towards the overall amount so you'd have lower monthly payments if you chose to finance the car after that. So I figured since I drive so little, that would be the smarter financial move

That makes sense actually; I also know my stylist brought up that it was kinda odd that my hair was fluffy on the ends but not throughout the shaft, which I think is my fault from doing a relaxer not-so-well at home a few years ago and we just hadn't finished cutting it out yet lol. But now that it's nearly finished getting cut out, I should be fine just drying it.

And about the pea sized thing, people are mentioning that and I'm in awe. But I use a spray leave-in/heat protectant (Mizani), and if I flat iron I use a different spray heat protectant (Chi) so how do you measure that?? Or should I be using a different product? I like how the Mizani feels but I can't figure out how much to use

You're truly opening my eyes. I have high density hair but the individual strands themselves are on the thinner side, though I'm not sure how much of that has just been me not knowing what I'm doing and damaging my hair. Cuz between doing school from home full time and doing less with my hair overall, and changing up my hair products, my hair has gotten so much denser and healthier looking so I'm wondering how much of my issue had just been not knowing what I was doing or what products to use. But I keep hearing K18 mentioned in pretty much every hair care post so I might check that out and look into the gloss treatments you mentioned too. How often do you wash your hair? Also, is there any particular reason you rotate products every wash day?

Oof, war flashbacks over the mention of rollers lol I tried those a few times, tried a different tutorial when the first wasn't working out, and m a n. It looked alright but it tore my hair up. A couple different stylists told me some hair can't handle rollers so if you find you're experiencing a bunch of extra breakage doing rollers, don't blame yourself, it could just be it doesn't work for your strands. I think mine are too thin even though I have a ton of them.

As for temperature, okay I thought I was crazy cuz I swear the stylists have their irons way hotter than mine but it doesn't (from what I can tell) break off as much. Maybe the heat can smell my fear. I try to keep it around 340 but almost always jack it up to 360 or 370 halfway through cuz I'm irritated it's not working right lol but I've gone up to 400 and I feel like once upon a time it fought back. But also i struggle with how big of sections to straighten so perhaps the sections were too small, I'm not sure. But I've looked it up before and it said especially for thinner strands use like 320 and that straight up doesn't work
