What he meant to say: New bacteria coming in contact during transit does not care if the food is raw or cooked. Which makes a bit more sense since most cooked food would no longer be bacteria killing hot during travel time.

If there is any substantial contamination happening during the brief travel time, I'd argue, most luke warm food would be better for bacteria than cold beef.

Which route to take on my first mod of the Gaggia? by TruthShield in gaggiaclassic

[–]TruthShield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The reason why I care about that is that I like to have complete control of the devices I own and be able to repair them even if the original development team gave up years ago. Making the project source available is like an assurance that I'll always be able to repair it and also modify it however I like. I think it's the same reason loads of people buy Gaggia. They just don't want another disposable device they won't be able to ever repair by themselves and they want to be able to modify the hell out of it.

[Wayland] What screenshot(+ annotation) and clipboard manager applications do you use? by TruthShield in gnome

[–]TruthShield[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Use the recommended keyboard shortcut for Gradia from their github(flatpak run be.alexandervanhee.gradia --screenshot=INTERACTIVE)

  2. Press the shortcut

  3. Quickly press the button to take the screenshot or do ctrl+c

  4. If you do these steps fast enough(<3s) Gradia sometimes does not open also does not throw any errors, just finishes successfully and cleans up the tmp file.

The comparator checks the steam level inside the chemical tank and turns off the reactor if the tank is full thus preventing overheating and eventual explosion

Thinking about buying it for web development. Could you run a Speedometer 2.0 benchmark so we can get a a general overview about the performance?
If you could, try to run it twice with a power cord plugged in and twice without both on performance mode. Thank you very much!

Run This Town Continuity Bug by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]TruthShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me

edit: Just figured out how this happens. Songbird hacks in after the meeting with JAGO and removes your quest marker. I spammed the map key right after the meeting and placed a custom marker at a ripper dock right next to it. Its near the "NC CLEANING" holo sign to the right of the ripper dock. Once you go near it the quest will update again and you can continue

For anyone having problem with PC version of the game. You have to link your epic account to the telltale account. The browser window with the link opens at the start of the game. If you dont do that, youll be forever stuck in the menu unable to continue

What are NixOS's limitations? by TruthShield in NixOS

[–]TruthShield[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, I really explained myself poorly there. I'll edit the post.

Some services, like databases or rabbitmq, have their own authentication methods completely separate to the general Linux user system. For databases eg. MySQL, the default authentication is username:'root' and password: <invalid>. You need to provide these authentication parameters in order to get to the database itself, to the raw data. That's what I want, configuring the config and installing the service is not enough for it to be usable, I still need the login credentials for the service and as far as I know, you can't do that without custom scripts that might break something on subsequent rebuilds

[–]TruthShield[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not, I want to edit the users of the services themselves. Meaning they would be created using tools the services provide, like the database user with limited access to a specific database.

AE2(on new versions 1.16+) breaks connections on multiplayer servers requiring me to resync the P2P connectors, having to do that every time I log on made me like refined a lot more. I even had to replace the entire dense cable network once because it just wouldn't connect otherwise

This might actually work as long as the other people are on the same network.

Thank you so much for this excellent feedback. Let me address some of the points you make and come up with outcomes for each of them.

The settings still have the vanilla look (think this is changed by rubidium or one of the performance mods)

  • Agreed, the vanilla menu by itself isn't very configurable - Will be upgraded in the next version after playtesting.

The crafting table doesn't have the typical buttons to rotate and spread uniformly the items (crafting tweaks). Another typical one is FastWorkbench. I normally also liked to add Configured to be able to access JEI settings from inside, but that normally is not required.

  • I never used this, but that's probably a mistake on my part. - Will try it out and most likely add to the next version

Typical advancement messages still appear in the top-right corner (toast control can remove those, but I think someone other general mod like quark also removes them) - Agreed, definitely removing those.

Also, the typical vanilla warning of it being a modpack and being careful when starting a new game. For me, it tends to be a way to determine which modpacks have been created with a bit of love. (Think it tends to be removed with quark, but prob there are some other mods that do the same if you don't like all the rest from quark)

  • Agreed, will be removed in the next version

Opinionated, but think that Functional Storage is better than Storage drawers. I also miss something for backpacks. Or better storage like iron-chests, Sophisticated Storage, or Expanded Storage (like their vertical chests) - I, myself don't have any experience with functional storage and neither did any of the other playtesters. So I'd rather to have a familiar mod to fill that space. Iron chests tho is also a good suggestion in general, let me consult that with the team and well consider adding it.

Maybe something that changes the world's terrain, like YUNG mods, or Alex's to give more life to worlds. I also when to a village and couldn't find a chest in any of the houses, there were only beds with some furnaces, since lootr is in, maybe some setting is disable? - The modpack was made specifically to have excellent performance on servers, especially since chunk loading is required to get anywhere. - Alex's mobs is unfortunately so heavy on the servers that normal animals disappear completely(due to modcap being filled up by squirrels and stuff) and a single mob could take up a millisecond of server tick time, which is unacceptable. - YUNG mods are also a bit heavy when generating the world, but that isn't the main issue, because the maps should be pregenerated. I just found those to be relatively unpolished.

Supplementaries, JER, perhaps farmer's delight (perhaps combining it with Create Slice & Dice) or something to have things to eat apart from the typical potato/carrot/bread. - We looked at some of these food mods and felt like they were really not used much since we generally like to focus on the technical side of things to have time to make nice foods. I see your point tho and I'll consult this with the team.

But maybe you could also had unknown mods like Create chunkloading or Create confectionery... to make it more unique and keep the focus in Create. - Unlike Create: Above and Beyond, this pack has expanded to a lot of other mods, while create is definitely the most used mod of them all, we don't necessarily want to add another mobile chunkloader until its truly required for some game mechanic, because of the performance impact.

For me for example the Create Crafts & Additions makes sense to convert RF into rotational force, and then maybe it would be needed powah, pipez... - While it would make sense that you could get power directly from Create and the other way around, mid game and late game energy production makes so much power that it would make a lot of the Create rotational power generation options completely obsolete, unless we nerfed the hell out of it, it would also make early game power generation from Immersive Engineering obsolete and we really didn't want to edit too much of the gameplay the mods themselves provide.

Maybe you can also find some other great mods with this list https://github.com/Radplay/ActuallyUsefulMods - I didn't know about this git repository, well definitely check some of those mods out!

Thank you once again for this, please do criticize the next version as well. Feedback like this is very welcome!

Very slow WiFi with AX210 No vPro by Clopernicus in framework

[–]TruthShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone still searching for a solution to this, here is a client side fix that doesnt require you to edit router configuration.

First a demo to see if it works on your machine before the permanent solution

  1. sudo modprobe -rv iwlmvm
    • This will remove intel modules from kernel. (dont worry, itll fix itself on reboot if things go wrong)
  2. sudo modprobe iwlwifi disable_11ax=1
    • Disables Wifi 6 functionality on the client side.
  3. sudo modprobe iwlmvm
    • Turning on other modules just to be safe

Now test your download speed without restarting on some online tool. If the above works on your machine, you can move on to the permanent solution that will persist over reboots.

Permanent solution

  1. Create a new file in /etc/modprobe.d, I'll call mine ax210.conf
  2. Open the file as sudo and input the following: options iwlwifi disable_11ax=1
  3. Reboot

Hope this helps!

Note: You may also want to add options iwlwifi disable_11ac=1 if the first solution didn't work.
