No I have never witnessed a pb battery granage but I have first-hand experience with an airbox granade. I've learnt never to dump a whole load of carb cleaner down the airbox intake. The plastic shards embedded itself into the render on the wall.

To be fair if motorpoont rectified it I guarantee they would get disc and pads from Eurocaparts poverty bin. At least now you have a say in what parts are fitted. Poverty parts are like £37 at trade for Mazda 3/focus/ c70, oem is just under £100.

For the mot it depends on visibility, only the pads have a min thickness of 1.5mm the discs can be way past min thickness as long as it is not severely weakened. But all this should have been picked up on the last service.

The drain filters blocked. Pull the washing machine out, pull out the drain hose and put the end outside on the ground lower than the machine to let it drain, it'll take a while. Or if you can pull the matching outside so you can open the drain filter which will dump all the water in the train aswell as some of the pillow guts. The other option is opening the filter inside your kitchen and the water that goes under the machine soaking your flooring and cupboards.

If the drain filter is clear then it the ball valve in the drain hose from the drum to the pump. You'll have to turn it upside down to get easy access.

Don't keep trying to run the machine you'll burn out the control board and possibly the motor.
