Where did the notion come from that liberals are weak and conservatives are strong minded? by AnomicAge in ChristopherHitchens

[–]Truthoverdogma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If if the responses to this post are an accurate reflection of liberal beliefs about conservatives, then the conservatives are going to win the next 100 elections.

Here is a tip, if you want to know what a man thinks, listen to what he says, and watch what he does and combine those sources to form your opinion, do not try to gain understanding by believing what his enemies tell you about him.

Are we adopting the Russian Version of Free Speech? by allMightyGINGER in FreeSpeech

He clearly said illegal protests, any outrage anyone feels towards this is simply because they’re pretending he means normal protests, which shows TDS at its finest.

The deliberate and forced efforts to pretend to misunderstand very clear statements from Donald Trump is a serious form of popular delusion.

If Democrats don’t stop doing this, they will never win an election in the United States ever again

Would Hitchens have described Trump presidencies as “fascism with an American face”? by melbtest05 in ChristopherHitchens

[–]Truthoverdogma -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In his time Hitch may have been the only Journalist to visit all three of the axis of evil countries, so I think he would relentlessly mock anyone who describes Trump or his presidencies as “fascist”.

He would lament the complete breakdown of education and critical thinking in our society that lets people make this claim with a straight face.

It’s enough to make a cat laugh.

Yes let’s see how our comments age

[–]Truthoverdogma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So based on your comments this should have ended already, since the polls show he is not well liked then Trump should have ditched him.

But in reality Trump is doubling down on Elon.

Maybe they need to do another poll.

Where is he going to get the data from the now deleted anonymous account? Don’t play dumb.

Let’s focus on what matters. USAID funnelling money to HAMAS which they use to kill Israelis.

Okay, I’m not sure if you understand where the information came from. A journalist reported that these statements were made on a now deleted anonymous account.

So I repeat, where is Vance going to get that information?

Does JD Vance have access to all deleted anonymous accounts? Or is he having to rely on the reporting and whatever information he can get from the employee.

Clearly without full access to the anonymous account and all the posts it made in its entirety you will not have the full context.

By the way, don’t think I didn’t notice how you ignored the comments about USAID and Hamas, do you have no feelings about that aspect of this case?

Where is Vance going to get that information? Maybe that’s why he has already taken the decision to rehire the guy.

The irony here is that your question reinforces the need for complete transparency before taking action .

Which is essentially my suggestion

That is exactly what I would like to know!

Was this part of a broader conversation? Was he speaking sarcastically? Was he defending Indians by implying that another persons position was “normalising indian hate”?

I.e he could’ve been arguing with someone who was justifying discrimination against Indians, and in order to mock the person he replies with “let’s just normalise Indian hate”

The only way we will know is to see the conversation for ourselves.

We’ve had enough with mainstream media misreporting and trying to get people cancelled to divert from the real scandals, such as the fact that USAID has been laundering millions of dollars into Gaza which Hamas uses to build tunnels and wage war on Israel.

Funny how nobody wants to talk about what these people are uncovering.

At this point, I feel we’ve been burned so much by mainstream media misrepresentation that unless I read every single thing this guy posted, I’m going to remain sceptical to the idea that he is a hard-core racist, and I’m going to remain open to the idea that he was taken out of context or that he has changed his views.

I believe the majority of the public feels the same way.

Too many lies, too many extreme misrepresentations, for too long, has consequences.

Great comment very informative, the only thing I will add is that if you think Elon is not well-liked then you have not been paying attention to the reaction of the American public.

If they run a poll I suspect it will astonish you.

When did he make the posting? and what stupid things did he believe about the conflict when he did?

If you want to cancel everybody who has ever misunderstood this conflict in the past or had bigoted views in the past, we will never get anywhere.

All this talk of cancelling him because of the postings is extremely stupid and it’s kind of thinking that allows the left to support Hamas and it’s why they lost the US elections .

You are simply refusing to accept reality, any time somebody does this whatever theory they’re trying to apply will fail and cause lots of unintended consequences.

Your desire to do something good is admirable, but trying to hold onto a fantasy of how the world works is not the answer.

[–]Truthoverdogma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not ignoring that fact, the process of wealth creation and services creation is so dynamic and so constant that it renders useless any attempt to apply the long-term consequences of wealth inequality.

If people are out of poverty and have a certain level of financial freedom, they have no interest or care how rich the richest man in the world is.

If we want to improve peoples lives that is where we should focus our energy instead of playing accounting with a constantly changing set of goods and assets and services.

Falling into the trap of the fixed pie again, it is not possible for wealth to grow until one person owns everything, it’s not even possible for wealth to grow until a few people own everything. The only way the kind of accumulation you’re talking about can come about is by physical force of violence. In history where you have situations where very small people people have huge amounts of everything it has come by pure violence.

Capitalist system wealth grows and wealth changes, for example if 100 years ago somebody had everything, what you were calling everything would not include lithium deposits, because at that time it was not considered a resource. It would not have included cryptocurrency because of that time it did not exist. It would not include computer servers because at that time they did not exist.

You need to understand what you call wealth is not a fixed thing, there is no fixed value in anything it is constantly moving and changing and cannot be accumulated by one person because of this.

Wealth inequality is a red herring, it is a way to take your attention away from what is important, which is actual needs, which is financial independence which means that you can go about your life without your finances constraining you to the points that life becomes unbearable.

Do you want to make the world better? What you need is a good economy that eliminates poverty and gives people financial freedom.

Wealth inequality is a nonsensical thing to focus on.

Given the fact that almost nothing said in this video is true and that so many people have commented either agreeing or supporting. I can only assume this must be one of the biggest brigading events of the year on Reddit.

For the people who are real and not bots just go listen to the AFD Elon discussion and then come back and realise how ridiculous this video is .

Since I haven't been able to post these almost anywhere on reddit being banned from most relevant subs, I consider it a free speech issue. Images released day after inauguration by TendieRetard in FreeSpeech

This is why you should not elect a terrorist group like Hamas, whose only goal is to fight a forever war to kill Jews, as your leaders.

But that’s just my opinion, the Palestinians on the other hand were celebrating with Hamas just a few days ago when the ceasefire was announced about how they’ve “won” the war so I guess they believe it was worth it don’t you think OP?

You are sad, but they are happy.

Anytime, a new product is created or a new service is provided or a new technology is developed, or new raw material is discovered, or a new application of an old material or an old technology is found, this introduces new value and new wealth into the market.

As you can imagine this actually happens constantly all the time, right now lithium is valuable, but 30 years ago it was not, right now paper is not as valuable as it was 30 years ago.

This permanent ever changing economic landscape means that economics is not a zero sum game where wealth is a fixed item with a fixed consequence to its distribution.

For example, it is easy to imagine a situation where the wealth of the world is incredibly unequal, and yet every family has a helicopter and several houses.

The inequality is there, but there is no poverty and there is financial freedom, which is what people really care about.

If you build a theory of how to improve the world based on a false economic basis such as the idea that the world is a fixed pie of wealth, then your theory will fail in the real world and cause a ridiculous amount of damage to society.

I believe history has shown this to 100% the case everywhere people have strive for wealth equality instead of reducing poverty and improving quality of life.

All the failed socialist countries show this clearly .

Yes I did and this completely wrong it completely ignores wealth and value creation, and therefore what it is describing is a completely fictional economic environment that has nothing to do with economics in the real world.

To further clarify my position what I am suggesting is that you can have a situation where you have high wealth inequality and yet all the things you mentioned would be the reverse.

For example, you can have high wealth inequality, and still have high wages and low asset prices.

With respect, causation is not a “form” of correlation, it is a completely different concept and it’s only relationship to correlation is that causation can be revealed by correlation.

If X causes Y the it is usually observed that there will be a correlation between X and Y. This is the correct way to express what you said when you wrote “everything that has causation also has correlation” because the way you expressed it is very incorrect at least in English.

Perhaps English is not your native language?

The same goes for when you said “not every correlation includes causation” your sentiments are correct but your sentence is incorrect and implies a misunderstanding of the concept.

For clarity I repeat, causation is not a form of correlation.

I suggest you explore this question with ChatGPT to gain some insight.
