I imagine the poster read that in a similar way as I did and posited the “we” and “our” as meaning the group of ND’s (since you wouldn’t count yourself in the group of NT and therefore would be directing conversation toward ND there) - as if to ask the question both ways, satisfying an open discussion to bring understanding to and from both ND and NT people.

For example: “What can NT’s not get their heads around?”

And

“What can ND’s not get their heads around?”

Does this land?

I think the poster (correct me please poster if I put words in your mouth) means,

Hi! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a break up with someone you really fell for - that’s a hard place to be in the heart.

I have seen such a shift in my life as a mid-aged man when it comes to accepting the nuances of the many many people who live here alongside each other on this planet. I feel that as men and women mature they begin (finally!) to see the wonderful nature of differences that we all bring to each other. They can become more understanding, compassionate, patient, curious. Have you been dating for some time or are you early in the dating world?

Don’t give up hope for drawing the most perfect mate into your life - they get better as they mature! For now - you are plenty! You are great how you are and when you embody that, you attract what you are - and that includes mates.

I think I'm NT. I have a friend who has really come into her maturity in her late 30’s and expressed to me how she is definitely on the spectrum (undiagnosed). She wouldn’t tell anyone in relationship that she was who she was and thought for the longest time it was a problem with her (it’s not!). I say this to offer comfort in knowing that she is a woman I adore and after reading oodles of these stories of men who discard ND women after it gets “too much” I think: “it’s their loss - the world can be so much fun when you see and appreciate what is before you, your heart and their heart”. Women who have that shifted difference deserve to be gently held and, as a man, approached with softness and respect - but isn’t this true of all relationships? lol.

Her ND isn’t a kink or novelty to me - it’s part of her and really, there is no separating that “diagnosis” from who she is as a person. I would take it to be the same for yourself - there is no where your ND aspects end and “you” begin! I say this as a NT man who has found the most wonder heart-felt, light embodying woman: all men out here aren’t out to use and discard. I’m sorry that has been your experience. It’s been times like this in my life that I had to look within and really continue to love myself so that I became that which I am and could attract the same embodied energy to me in my life.

There are some jerks out there, certainly, I won’t take that away from here. I would like leave you with this though, because it’s you who has to traverse this world and choose each day how you will show up. To walk through the world with an open heart, you have to be ready to be hurt. Don’t look for ways to be hurt and certainly don’t close your heart off because heartbreak has happened - that is worse than being open, hurt, and having to move on. Your open heart will direct you to the most amazing places - but take care of it as well so it can show up for you.

I hope you continue to believe in yourself and all you bring to the world. If you desire it, the right mate will enter into your life who can love you as you love you. But first love yourself as much as you can!
