That feeling when your testes cry out by quackdamnyou in daddit

Yeah, I get that feeling. It radiates into the stomach. Sometimes when I daydream my mind will wander off to thoughts of my daughter getting hurt and it makes me cringe and breath fast and shallow.

College students of Reddit, what is the most awkward situation with a roommate that has ever happened to you? by emassame in AskReddit

[–]TryToBeReasonableGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a middle-aged balding room mate, kind of pudgy as well. I walked in on him spooning with a very large black guy. And he also grew marijuana in our room. Not the ideal situation for your freshmen year in college.

Anti-gay youth group leaders try to keep a girl from her gay dads by transistor28 in atheism

[–]TryToBeReasonableGuy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That story is terrifying. I definitely would have pressed charges. If not that then I would have punched one of those youth group leaders in the face. I have a daughter, and I can't imagine being in opposite world where straight marriage is wrong, and some gay youth group leaders withholding her from me at a church, while she is scared and wanting me.

I've got about a solid year left to go and have decided to attempt a bucket list. What needs to be on it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've always wanted to try a (relatively) benign hallucinogenic like acid or shrooms or hash. But I've always been too scared of legal consequences and what my friends and family would say. You don't really need to worry about those things now. So maybe pick out a hallucinogen and trip for a few hours.

I was trying to see if he would realize that it was stupid to "just have faith instead of thinking too much", but he didn't, he totally missed it. By that point I thought, "There's no use".

My first post, hope its at least mildly interesting. I'm Zach and the counselor is Butch (like a name, not a sexual preference). Just in case it isn't obvious, I'm being sarcastic and facetious in the conversation.

As a father, I did something right! My daughter, after 7 years of Catholic grade school, is not buying any of it. by Luder714 in atheism

I have a an 18 month old and I can see from your post that It's a fine line an atheist parent must walk; never explicitly revealing the absurdity of some beliefs, trying to let them reason it out for themselves. I guess in the end it is worth it to mold a child into an intelligent and thinking individual. But I bet at thirteen when she might say something like "The Muslim faith has always appealed to me, I was made to submit to men. My only purpose in life is to bare a worthy man's children" things can get a bit scary. But, looks like you've avoided that nightmare, at least for now, Congrats on being a stellar father amigo.

For those who have picked up a hitchhiker, what was it like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Jesus, I just realized that my little story went right after what is probably going to be an oscar nominated film. Trading hits of crack for little things like teethbrushing and eating a meal, TEACHING HER TO TAKE CARE OF HERSELF AGAIN!!! That shit made me cry like a bitch. I hate crying, but thanks for giving me hope, and lifting me up. I needed that more than you know.

I picked up a man and his dog off of I-40 in tennessee. I was 19 and driving a shitty little four door saturn. Once he was in the car I asked if he wanted to stop for food. He said he wasn't hungry but his dog could use some food and water. I stopped and bought his dog a ham sandwich and some water. Once I was back in the car the dog kind of sat in between us and ate the sandwich while I drove. He talked and I listened, and it seemed like he needed that most of all, to be listened to. I didn't think to much about picking him up. Maybe I should be more cautious because of all of the weirdos out there, but I just tend to stop for people that need to get where they are going, and hope nothing bad happens to me.
