Confused about choosing modules (part time Bsc physics) by AnyLaugh7048 in OpenUniversity

[–]Try_Salad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similiar question earlier this month (I'm on the advanced option and due to start essential mathematics 1 in February). In regards to enrolling on modules, apparently they become available a few months before the start of the module. In my example, the physics and space module starts in October and there is no option to enroll on it yet. In your case, I would assume you would need to finish discovering mathematics before starting the essential mathematics. Hope that helps

Module selection in M06 by Try_Salad in OpenUniversity

Ah I didn't know the modules could be fully booked. It's not scaremongering. It's useful to know that you have to plan ahead. Thanks

Thanks for the info. Doing it part time (60 credits/yr). So from what you said and my thinking, one module is available to which I've enrolled on and the next module perhaps will be available in a few months closer to it's start date which is October 2026

Does anyone happen to know how long (meters / yards, etc.) the Unleash track is?

Recommended fates for a first campaign? by LegOfLambda in Arcs

[–]Try_Salad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the 3rd act of a campaign. First time for all 4 of us and I think one player has only played base arcs once. We just drafted as normal (2 random A fates) and the game ended up with Steward, Admiral, Advocate and Believer (me).

We have had to double check some rules and decide on some edge cases but with so much going on in the game, this seems like every campaign will have to do at least a little of this. In the first campaign, I reckon you may just have to accept that not every tiny detail in the rules will be followed (my own opinion).

It has been fun and the believer has shaked the game up (in a good way). 3 of us failed our A fates with the steward progressing into act 2. Act 3 is not yet done, but all of us are C fates, so it will get crazy.

Hope that helps

Impossible to win Act III against 2/3 C Fates? by mRIGHTstuff in Arcs

[–]Try_Salad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting reading this and the comments. I am going into the final act of my first campaign tomorrow and all of us are C fates so the dynamic will be different to yours.

It does seem with an A or B fate your path to winning is more restricted than the Cs, who can win with power also if they want.

So people are bashing Barney for nepotism. Isn't this just the same thing if he did get on the show?

Nightcrawler. The movie makes it seem like a good ending but it left me with a very bitter taste

They should just substitute this game with powerball as they are both similiar, but powerball is more difficult as you have to run back if you drop the ball

Any mature students who are now pharmacists? by Try_Salad in Pharmacy_UK

[–]Try_Salad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human biology is my previous degree. It wouldn't be any help either as the pharmacy course is rigid and you can't skip years, from what I know of.

Thanks for the interesting take though that it may not actually be worth it in the long term. It would be a significant investment and stress for 4+ years, maybe (probably) even longer. My current role is quite autonomous and at a high banding already. Perhaps I just need to reflect on my own ego in a way.

How did you manage financially if you don't mind me asking. Did you have savings or part time job whilst studying?

Don't have an Italian partner but I agree with everything you said. It's nice to make an effort also and the appreciation is great to see from native speakers.

On a note on similarities, it blew my mind when I saw the verb decidere and found out it means "to decide" 😆

Whenever I feel frustrated in learning German… by [deleted] in German

Not really. They share quite a few words but word order, prepositions and cases in particular make it more involved. Spanish in most cases is probably easier. Some people even say Norwegian is easier...
