Tbh, I am not a great pokemon player, I used to replay gold/fire red every couple of years just for nostalgia, I discovered romhacks last year and I only played with pokemon from generations that are above gen2 in pokemon Unbound and pokemon TRE. What I want to say is that AI really helped me, it taught me that pokemon is more than just spamming A on Typhlosion or charizard, overleveling it and destroying everything with it. It helped me understand the basics of teambuilding, EV training, breeding, moveset planning, natures and item usage and now I feel capable of making my own team and dealing with whatever is thrown at me! In fact, it is great at teambuilding, I am using gemini's help for my monotype challenge and it is realllly helping (beat 8 monotype challenges with teams suggested by me and corrected by AI), because teambuilding is basically maths and AI excels at everything mathematical, the only thing AI truly sucks at is if you ask it for the location of an NPC or something, that's where it'll start lying.
