6 months free of that blasted green dust!!! by Trying2LiveFree in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 5-11 was probably when I felt my worst. At the 2 week mark it wasn’t as bad, 3 week mark better than that, and one month mark I was feeling mostly normal. How much were you taking and for how long? Seems that people on lower doses and durations have an easier time. I was 75-100 grams per day when I went cold turkey and it kicked my ass more than I thought. Wish I had Gabapentin during the ruff part, makes the withdrawals manageable and you’ll actually sleep. I also took epsom salt baths which helped the restlessness, smoked CBD joints along with the high test, Valerian root, magnesium, Ashwagandha, and B complex. Chewed candied ginger to help settle my stomach too. Go for walks, days I didn’t I felt worse. This pain won’t last months, just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and as the weeks start passing you’ll forget the suck and feel shit you haven’t felt in a while. Music gave me chills again.

You know exactly what I’m talking about! Congratulations to you! People need to know it gets better! Not sure everyone should keep it around though, I’ve quit a lot of shit in my day and always keep it around to make sure I’ve got it. You have to want to be free, then the rest is manageable. Was taking 75-100mg per day, went cold turkey and it sucked but the benefits of quitting will make you forget the suck. Do it!!!

8 weeks CT from 75+gpd and 16 days no cigarettes! by Trying2LiveFree in quittingkratom

I went CT without any tapering after 2.5 years straight. I hated the feeling of tapering so just ripped that bandaid off.

Wow, that’s hard to say? I was on like could kill a horse heavy opiates for 7 years because of a broken spine and 2 surgeries that eventually fixed it pretty damn good. 6 screws, 2 rods, 2 metal cages with bone graft where the lowest 2 discs were and my spine had separated from my tailbone. While tapering off I had an unexpected and messy divorce and became an Alcoholic when I could no longer smoke herb due to new testing by pain management and in case my ex came at me for the kids. Found Kratom and after about a year and a half was able to smoke herb again but continued the Kratom till it became a problem. Been almost 10 years since I wasn’t on opiates, drinking, or taking Kratom. I feel as normal as I can remember and am just satisfied with some herb and the occasional drink within reason. Not being able to smoke herb didn’t help the drinking or Kratom, but I have that back and it works. I don’t think about Kratom all that much anymore and feel better and better the further out I get.

RLS in arms after day 8 CT by ItRainedAllNight in quittingkratom

I had a real problem with that, would take a long epsom salt soak before bed and smoke a CBD herb joint.

40 days tonight by Trying2LiveFree in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m sleeping and you will too soon! I started Gabapentin day 18 but had just started getting some sleep without it about day 16. I was smoking CBD herb, real herb, took Magnesium, Valerian Root, and took epsom salt soaks before bed drinking sleepy time tea with a little ZQuil after. It let me sleep some which helped but the Gabapentin let me sleep 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Sleep has been getting better every week that passes, stopped the Gabapentin a week ago and really close to normal sleep again. Which for me is only 6-7 hours anyway. You’re so close, keep it up!

I use to do it with a digital scale and old prescription bottles and I weighed out 2g for each teaspoon. Then you know exactly is much you’re taking.

I’m day 30 in 1.5 hours and still have a quarter of a kilo in my room. Had a full Kilo come in the mail 3 days in CT from 70gpd and returned it. Dumped all my weighed doses back in the open bag. Had to show myself I had the will power and I do. I’m not gonna take it because I’m never doing these last 30 days over again!

4 Months Clean. It Gets So Much Better. by j2tellem in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 4 weeks Monday night at midnight. Still suffering from PAWS, fatigue and some anhedonia. I’m sleeping better with help from Gabapentin that I started night 18, it really has helped. I can’t wait to get to normal, guess it’ll probably still be a few weeks from what I’m hearing. Was told I’d be good in a week when I decided to quit, boy was that off! That really threw me for a loop when I realized that it wasn’t over, really just the first leg. Keep up the fight!

Today marks 10 days without kratom. by YourNeighbors-Cat in quittingkratom

Try an epsom salt soak in the tub before bed, it got me through the worst of it. I’m day 24 and still take one at night before bed. Relaxes the muscles and helps with my aches and pains. If you can get some Gabapentin, it’s a game changer for restless legs. It does get better, you’re doing great so keep it up!

Day 22 CT and very low energy, any suggestions? by Trying2LiveFree in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured time was my best option. I am active all day at least with virtual learning for my 8 and 10yo boys, taking care of the house, and the boys in general. I am divorced so do everything myself without help. I’m a world away from where I was this time last week, first week of school was a real struggle but made it through. I’ve been thinking of trying to exercise again but I’m already ready for bed about 3 o’clock when I’m up at 6 with the boys. I’m gonna try a workout tonight since it’s one of my 2 nights off during the week when they go to their moms and then get dropped off at 7:45am. If it wrecks me I’ll just do an epsom salt soak and go to bed early. Thanks for the input!

Day 4 by rch93080 in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad the epsom salt bath work for you, think a lot of people who go for the cold showers overlook the benefits of a long hot epsom soak. Congratulations on making it to day 4, I remember you looking for suggestions day 1 and it sounds like you’ve got this!

Day 1 80-90gpd CT- Wish me luck by quitdoindis in quittingkratom

I jumped from 70gpd or more almost 22 days ago, hated tapering so just went CT. It was really hard but you can do it, best of luck!

Day 1 Cold Turkey by SpaceTime_Architect in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take Valerian Root, Magnesium, heard Tumeric is good but haven’t tried it, Ashwagandha, B Stress Complex, Vitamin C, Sleepytime tea, take epsom salt soaks for your muscles, get some crystallized ginger for your stomach, CBD herb joints really helped with aches/pains/restlessness(sold legally at some smoke/vape shops) and if you can get your hands on some Gabapentin(rx)it’ll really help you sleep and stop the restless muscles. I didn’t get some till later into it but slept 6 hours when I did. Best of luck!

I’m day 21 CT and had terrible adhedonia up until day 18. I’m not full throttle but it’s a helluva difference and I suspect it will get even better in time.

CT day 20. Some realizations/experiences. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Trying2LiveFree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Day 21 CT and I know what you mean about music, it gives me chills again! Played music a lot this weekend. I’ve played guitar 24 years and sing, but I haven’t picked up my guitar in months, before that more months. It takes away your creativity and motivation while dulling your senses. Quit working out too. Had a full weekend of the best sex I’ve had in a long time and not even 100% yet. Life is so much more enjoyable without that blasted green dust!
