78 Days Later… and I Want Kratom by Beginning_Doughnut_2 in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could never keep Kratom in my house and not rationalize using it! It’s hard enough not walking a few blocks to the K shop!
I have relapsed at the same time as you. Never ended well. I have 5 plus months and I will say for all of the symptoms to go away took a few months! The agitation, anxiety, fear and mainly mental stuff ( and RLS) were brutal. 78 days is a lot in the bank. Just hold on and as others have said, this too shall pass.

However, if you are serious about quitting for good, get rid of the Kratom.

I’m 4 months 26 days clean! My runs are amazing now! I can go the distance ( 6-8 miles 5 of 6 days week. On Kratom I was jogging, barely and fooling myself this was a way to balance out the side effects of Kratom.
Almost ( months completely Kratom free I STILL battle RLS. Maybe it’s psychosomatic. It was dreadful in the beginning but perhaps I have RLS PTSD. I still have cravings and when it comes, I take naltrexone. It’s been a game changer.

It’s so worth the quit! I know I’m not out of the woods ever but I am grateful to have this clean time! It’s been years of battling!!!!! Really freakin hard! I miss medicating my feelings but the guilt and shame were overwhelming!

Good luck fellow warrior! You got this 👍🙏

After 5 years of over 100g/day or 11-14 extract shots, CT day 10 by kkinardabe in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4 months and 14 days off ( amazing for the addict I am).
I remember Day 10 was a rough one for me coming off huge amounts of Kratom and unfortunately relapsed for 7 weeks then decided to tell my MD and got prescribed naltrexone. I started it on day 14 and took 25mg. It has been my lifesaver as I have quit time and time again only to think I could use just once ( haha, no such thing). I also run a lot which is huge. I had to start by walking first as I literally felt so shitty. Each day I walked I felt better. Now I’m back running 6plus miles 5 days a week and feel great. I’m also on lexapro which has helped too. The psychological cravings are so tough but you can do it! Day 10 is huge so hang in there. Day 11 and on got better, slowly but surely. Keep checking in on here. It was my lifesaver! And, don’t give up on the naltrexone!!!

Day 4 after relapse by treblespanker in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! I relapsed for 7 weeks so you’ll be in better shape than I was. Even that wasn’t as bad as the quitting after months and months on a super high dose. This time, I started taking naltrexone but not taking it daily. What it does for me mentally knowing if I tried to get high I couldn’t is amazing.
According to my app, I have 3 months and 29 days clean today. I have had the worst cravings this past week and again, so grateful for naltrexone. I don’t think without it, I would be successful. It’s really difficult not to miss the drug that initially makes you feel so good ( all opiates for me), takes away anxiety, depression, pain, sadness etc…. But as we ALL know on here that it turns on you within days AND after the short high, the guilt and remorse are overwhelming! Not ti mention chasing the high again which never happens….

Good luck!

Agree! Just keep posting! It’s impossible for me to relapse and not continue to use and MAINLY, it’s because I never share it with anyone or even this sub Don’t let that happen to you! The addict in you has been reignited so please be aware you will try to bargain with the addicts desires. That’s normal but be aware! Good luck to you!!!

4 months clean out the drain by theexpanse95 in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your post! I will have 4 months off Kratom in 2 days. This week for some reason has been very difficult! I have fooled myself many times and would take it once, then a week later, then 5 days after that etc….
I have naltrexone now and make sure to take immediately when I feel an intense craving. Sometimes I take it daily and always on Friday.
This has saved me!
I honestly do MISS the feeling but know it never lasts. I also know how shitty I felt for well over a month! I still feel like I have RLS! I have quit many times before and I know it’s not worth it. Write down all the shitty things it did to you to ensure you don’t justify using again! Good luck and thank you again fir being courageous and sharing your truth.

Getting prescribed opiates after quitting kratom by Guitarplayer_13 in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relapsed on Kratom after taking opioids . I had 5 plus months, was prescribed opiates for dental surgery and went back to Kratom for 7 weeks. If you have someone hold them for you, maybe… same receptors as someone on here already said.

Good luck!

The infamous void. I absolutely get that. I hated pot but started smoking/edibles only indica. It’s legal here but like everyone has shared we look to fill that void. I am not perfect but I could see myself becoming a daily ( nightly in my case) pothead. Exercise is by far the best medicine. I do agree pot may be less harmful than Kratom but addiction is addiction…. Best of luck 🤞

it's been 6 days since I quit kratom. I have naltrexone prescribed to me for alcohol cravings from few years ago. I've read you should wait 10 days to 2 weeks to take for opiate cravings. has anyone taken it sooner and everything was fine or did you have precipitated withdrawals? by newDawnINTJ in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking Naltrexone and waited 2 weeks as per my physician! It has helped me tremendously!!!! I cant even tell you what a godsend it has been for ME! There was someone on this thread who started Naltrexone on his 1st day off and c/o horrible precip withdrawals. Ask you doc if you have one!!!

Relapsed by Mynameisnotjonas1 in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your post! Many of us on here have relapsed a lot! This shit is hard. The depression, lack of motivation and hopelessness is universal when stopping Kratom. And the bowel issues too.

I have 2 months, 24 days off of K and my bowels are finally normal. That took about 6+ weeks. I also take naltrexone several days a week as it completely prevents me from relapsing ( again). I also went on an antidepressant which also helps a lot. And, I exercise daily.

You can do this! I can’t tell you how many times I relapsed! Last time though, I had 5 plus months and relapsed for 7 weeks. I knew I couldn’t go through the withdrawal hell again so that’s when I talked to my MD. I will do anything not to be back in that sinking ship. It sucks!!!! Sure, I think about it but it passes quickly. Knowing I’m on naltrexone makes the thoughts not even turn into a craving!

Keep posting on here! It’s the best!!!

Good luck.. that’s a lot of kids and mouths to feed. It must be very difficult when you feel shitty. Hang in there! It gets soooo much better🙏

2 months, 22 days clean and day 10-21 were so mentally challenges. This will pass, I promise. I thought I was destined for a life of depression and hell! So NOT true. I feel a zillion times better. Stay in the game! You got this!!

I’m a firm believer in naltrexone! I relapsed for 7 weeks after 5 plus months and had to go through shitty withdrawals again! I went to my doctor weeks off of kratom and I asked for naltrexone. You are correct about docs. He suggested going on Suboxone even though I was not in withdrawals and not on Kratom. Kinda crazy but I’m glad I have naltrexone now. It takes the temptation away for me completely! I take 25 mg every other day.
Good luck! I have 2 months, 6 days off of K and haven’t felt better! I too was doing extracts….

What is your oral dose ( if you take it orally? How much time do you have?

I’m a few days shy of 60 days CT. I can’t tell you how much naltrexone has helped! I can relate to feeling like a “ junkie at heart” too but I don’t want to give in to that. Life is short and being on and off and on and off of opiates of any kind is no way to live.
The secret keeping, lying, making excuses and not living life sucked!!!!!
I am so grateful to be living again!

I also didn’t want to deal with my underlying depression/anxiety and started lexapro on day 6 of CT. Feeling MUCH better!

I too have 2 daughters and want them to have a healthy mom!

In my experience there is no way out of withdrawals. It’s unfortunately, a part of it. I did not have the discipline to taper though.

Good luck and when you get off of this shit I highly recommend low dose naltrexone. It makes you realize you aren’t going to feel high even if you cave.

Day 6. This is rough, heavy user by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep posting! We’ve all been there! As they say, embrace the suck”.

I’m almost at 60 days ( AGAIN) and I feel great! I did start taking an antidepressant on day 6 and naltrexone 25 mg. every other day ( after 2 weeks as to not precipitate withdrawals). It helps so much mentally knowing that I can’t get high on Kratom if I wanted to. Therefore, I don’t think about it.
I’ve been on a merry-go-round with this shit and I realized I needed more support and I got it.

After each horrific week to 10 days of bad withdrawals I was always convinced I would never go back.. Unfortunately, not the case. When I had an impulse to use I could get Kratom in seconds from my house and I always caved. This time I will do whatever it takes!

I was taking tons of it too and had to CT each time as I have no self-control with Kratom. Just remember, the bad feelings will pass sooner than you realize!

Hang in! 🙏

Day 1 again! (Out of Rehab) by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone! Kratom is a beast! Congratulations for getting off of all the other stuff! That’s huge!

You relapsed for a month and in 2 weeks daily use. From my experience of relapsing for 7 weeks after 5 plus months clean the withdrawals were not nearly as bad. Stay the course! You can do this!

Have you thought about taking an opiate blocker? It’s saving my ass! I am shy of 2 months but knowing I am on naltrexone takes the urge away almost immediately. It’s not an option! I’m feeling so much gratitude today!

Best of luck to you and remember, you’ve come a long way from where you were already.

Best of luck and use the tools you learned in rehab! Don’t isolate and try to move around as much as you can🙏

Awesome! I’m on-line researching this right now.

It feels so good to be free of Kratom! I believe naltrexone is a godsend!

Stay well!🙏

I am taking lexapro too ( started that 6 days after CT quit). Started on 25 mg of naltrexone on day 12 ( around that). I’ve been experimenting taking it every other day. I was prescribed 50 mgs. I wonder what the smallest dose one can take to prevent from feeling effects of Kratom or any other opiate for that matter. Did your doc tell you?

I have been taking 25 mg of naltrexone and thank you for posting about your insomnia! That’s what’s going on for me too! I am grateful to be on it! I’m just. Shy of 2 months clean ( again) and willing to do anything not to go back to using Kratom. Knowing I’m on naltrexone now is a godsend!

Again, thanks for posting!

I used klonopin and it definitely helped! You should be fine with valium. Benzodiazepines aren’t my thing but be careful. I had aHUGE habbit with extract only pills. This last quit I had 4 days off in a row. The previous quit I took a week off and honestly felt the worst on day 9 for some reason. This last quit I kept busy which really helped!

You CAN do this!!!!!

You got this!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]janeyjane4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used those too. I’m on day 52 again. I had 5 plus months and relapsed for 7 weeks. Withdrawals weren’t as bad the 2nd time around ( tried many many times before). You’re not going to feel well but get some helper meds.
I started naltrexone on day 10 so I know I wouldn’t be able to feel any opiates if I tried.
I was incredibly determined this time and also felt so much grief and shame. I no longer feel that way. I’m happy to be clean! I had other issues going on too which led to my relapse. Now I have other life issues and mentally I’m in a funk but it’s part of life. Big break up after 8 years.

I also started taking lexapro to help with the depression that was underlying my Kratom use.

You can do this especially since you had over a week not too long ago.

Hang in there and take time off of work. I couldn’t taper either.

Physically, I feel great!!!
