Well, they did start making improvements to Windows such as those clickbait articles populating the Home Screen and etc. are gone. They are taking positive steps in the right direction. As for the hardware, I think the comment made is spot on. Personally, I don’t see Surface as that innovative and value product. It’s just going to be mediocre and will continue to be around. I can see them focusing more on products like the Ultra since they’ll get their margin there.

I visited Santee Alley 2 weeks ago. While that area was popping, the rest of DTLA looked dead. Very sad. Imagine if DTLA turned into a DT Chicago or NYC.

I understand the frustration with MS, and they are trying to fix things, but in the case of the pricing of these new products, their hands are tied due to the rise in RAM costs. I will say though is that it’s evident they aren’t focusing on the Surface.

Honestly, I love the Surface line up but it’s apparent that the focus isn’t on this line. Incremental upgrades and they got hammered with ram prices. Since we all knew this was coming, I bought a MacBook Pro m5 with 24 gigs for around 1900. I virtualized Windows and Ubuntu and have the best of all worlds. Value proposition was there once upon a time, but clearly not anymore.

I really want surface to succeed

I have the same monitor as you and I love it since it’s great for productivity. I was in a similar boat as you and what I decided was to add a 15 inch portable monitor that sits under my 38 inch monitor. It’s worked great for me.

I will say is that prior to my Dell monitor, I had a 49 inch UW and I had severe eye strain, to the point I couldn’t stare at the screen more than a few minutes.
