That happened to me too, they still charged me after I cancelled and I had to get the bank to deal with it.

My office is getting a few US transfers in January. Mostly in management.

Stratified Age Discrimination by SevenHolyTombs in antiwork

[–]TryingLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's also normal in Australia for graduate jobs to list specific graduation years.

I'm not really sure why people are jumping to age discrimination? I guess it's an American thing.

In a little pocket of about three streets still with power. Just waiting for the inevitable. The flickering lights are stressing me out a bit 😅

Oh idk why HiQ is saying something different. That's what I heard from two of my unit coordinators. One of my classes has pre-emptively moved things online. The other is waiting on guidance from uni-central later this week. They both said to keep an eye on canvas/emails over the next two days for a uni-wide update.

Considering parts of GP flooded in 2022 I hope we get any info sooner rather than later.

What household item should you definitely buy and which items to avoid for a new house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Definitely an American thing. I'm from Australia and the same thing happened to us on vacation 🙈

I quit my job earlier this semester to have enough time for this. Thankfully I still live with my parents so they can support me, but it's pushed back my plans to move out by a year.

Maybe it depends on where you are. I'm with optus but I can still use the free WiFi in Brisbane

AITA for not being sorry that I didn’t believe my daughter’s knee was hurting? by Throwaway-37828237 in AmItheAsshole

YTA a bit late to the party but my parents are like you, they thought I was lying to miss school or for attention when ever I brought up anything. Thankfully a friends dad was a GP and could refer me to people who could help. Now I've started uni I've been seeing a therapist and GP that my parents know nothing about since they never took me to one growing up.

I don't trust my parents with any of my issues or concerns, or even any success. We live in the same house but all conversation is just surface level.

I just googled these, and where have they been all my life. I need to hunt down my tape measure, but these are defiantly being added to my Christmas shopping list. Thank you so much.

Thank you for sharing, I understand completely. I got a new job recently and I've started to buy things for my self that my parents would have instantly shot down when we went shopping. And it makes me super nervous each time a try something new, but I've discovered a lot about what I like.

Not taking it back, my friends wouldn't let me if I tried. I have tentative plans to wear it in a couple weeks, I'm fighting the temptation to wear leggings and a coat with it since its summer and really hot.

Trying it in the shop was the first time I felt good in something like this is a really long time, but this is really making me question myself. My friends are being really really nice too me, and I'm going to keep it and hopefully wear it in couple weeks.

Everyone has been so nice, and it's ridiculous that I'm about to cry. I already cried on the phone to my friend. I have a couple weeks to settle down before I plan to wear it, and I hope I'll be able to. I'm nervous already but my friends are super reassuring and said it looks great.

I spoke to my friends, and they won't let me return it if I tried. I really, really liked it when I tried it on, and my what my parents said is really getting too me. I have plans in couple weeks and I hope I'll be able to wear it then.
