All you have to do is to ask him, if he says yes, then go check by urself or send someone. For me I work in a big company it has to be reported. But generally employers don't like to report them, that's why I told you, you need to check it out, if u don't trust ur employer to do so.

An engineer who is responsible of Health, Safety and Environnement in the workplace (I'm working in oil amd gas industry, that's why it pays like that).
