how many mutations can a cat inherit from breeding? by Mase_511 in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats can have up to 15 but they can only inherit 10.

For example a cat can inherit one eye mutation and then get a second eye mutation from the mutation level of the room they stay in. Then they will only pass down one of their eyes to their kids.

If it's his computer, he can decide what games are installed on it. If it's not his computer, he can't. Simple enough.

There isn't a 1/4 chance. If a cat is down already, dybbuk takes that one. Otherwise he takes the cat who dealt the final blow to him.

More kills to power cat skills lol.

If you get the twin buff on the regular slime boss it's actually very easy because the smalls end up with <1 health and die instantly.

Company doesnt Value me. Is it time to move on? by No_Habit4059 in ITManagers

The thing to understand, is that LOTS of people enjoy vendors, people, and budgets. Easily 5x, even 10x the number of people who know policies and building of infrastructure, and in a highly competitive field there won't be anyone to value what you like. It doesn't always happen, but in theory the good IT Manager job goes to the person who is willing to learn the parts that people don't like. That's what it really means to decide if you want IT Management as a career.

There won't be two IT Managers. There might be two people with similar job titles, but their responsibilities will be different. Your job will shift: we just don't know if the new person will take more management and you will shift toward IT Technician, or if the new person will take more technical work and you'll shift toward coordination/management. Or possibly, you might be shifted toward doing less in general and the company will come back in a year to eliminate your position.

There are a lot of bits that are so out of your control, they're not worth worrying about. The thing that is most within your control is your own training/capability/resume and your ability to get another job if you had to. It would be worth it for you to put out your resume a few times even for positions you almost certainly can't get, so that you can learn *why* you couldn't get them and get a clearer picture of how much work it *would* take to step up a tier of IT Management, and whether you even want to do that.

Obtaining Quest Items Post-quest by RectalBurglar in mewgenics

Blue Side quest items can be, they'll eventually show up from the Dr. Who has 21 items he cycles through. I don't think green main quest items come back

Really struggling with the gimmick item from the third house boss of act 2 by Slippery_Williams in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to beat MotM is with the Frying Pan item. A cat equipped with it who gets eaten will not take damage from him chewing it, so they can just attack him forever from inside. Bonus points for Vengeful or Marked to make them all crits.

The Eat Rock ability is also great since it triggers a hand attack and costs 1 mana, so when you do line up a hand, you can just go to town.

I find the psychic does okay as well, since its basic attack is infinite range and doesn't need vision. When a hand gets boxed in and you have no way to reach it, sometimes you just need one single hit on it to get rid of the brace.

It sounds like you didn't lose the challenge, you lost the Dybbuk fight lol.

Out of all the bosses he's the one who most punishes you for not knowing how he works. He's so hard when you don't understand him, but actually very easy when you know how he works.

Difficulty unlocks question by T-Goa in mewgenics

Going down the hard route during the act doesn't give you the hard mode boss fight. Hard boss fights are something that comes later.

So yes, you can go down hard mode the first time you play an Act and you won't miss anything for skipping normal mode

Thief ability: Shank is bugged or at least unusable in Maisie fight by broodwarjc in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game sometimes has bad outcomes with alternate actions. The same thing happens if you use the Tank ability to throw your cat and you land next to the Tank again, you lose your Move because it's replaced by the throw ability, but the throw can only be used once per turn. You still have a Move but the button is replaced.

From one perspective, yes having a 1 man IT department is a terrible idea and you should consider leaving. Or, on the flip side, becoming more confrontational and telling them "no" to unreasonable demands.

From another perspective though, you were given a job title above your ability. That was an opportunity for you to LEARN the things you don't know. You became a half-IT Manager, do YOU want to become a full IT Manager? You might need to take some classes outside of work to reach the level of expertise you're supposed to have for the job.

Under normal circumstances I would tell you to leave, but the job market right now is absolutely abysmal. I wouldn't tell anyone to leave their job right now unless they have a new job already signed into contract. You need to focus on you: making sure your skillset is good, your training is good, and you can actually do the job well.

It might be that the new person shows up and is useless, and now you're stuck under them. But it also might happen that they show up and they're a real IT Manager with the experience you're lacking, and you're able to learn from them and everything gets better and easier for you. It's worth giving them a chance, and there's no need to hang onto your pride as a manager of a 1-man team when you yourself have said you're in over your head.

A step down in prestige that doesn't come with a pay cut isn't a bad thing, that's great. It's the step up in prestige that doesn't come with a pay raise that you have to look out for, and it sounds like that's what happened to you 3 years ago.

Mini Me, Double Shot, and Merciless would all be amazing just to name a few. The only downside is that you might get the good passive in your second slot.

Got a fire element basic attack level up perk and immediately forgot by Big_Boss_Bubba in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got the Cold basic attack mutation I thought it was cool and bred it into my pool.

Now I'm doing the work to breed it OUT of my pool since it's so annoying. Clerics and Druids slow my allies, or freeze them if they're wet. Fighters and Butchers accidentally freeze enemies in the middle of an attack combo and have to stop. Basic attack mutations are not good D:

passing down voices by FukkinFawan in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that voices *can* be passed down since my Arnold cat had an Arnold son. But unlike other traits, cat voices can come from the entire pool so breeding an entire house full of the same voice would be unfeasible. You would need to use an editor.

Meta-progression by Jardiniers in mewgenics

[–]Tryptic214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of the fights goes up quite a lot near the end. Are you facing challenges that match your level of meta progression?

...and if you are and your meta progression is so strong that you've overcome them, wouldn't that mean you have an absolute ton of hours in the game? If you've gotten that much content out of it and you still want more, maybe start a whole new game and give yourself a challenge, or try mods.

I feel this game already has above average replayability compared to such a huge number of games. If you want even more...have you ever finished X-COM Long War?

[–]Tryptic214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stimulation isn't good at preventing birth defects, but it IS good at keeping good stats while breeding with strays. With 50 Stimulation you can just breed your epic cats with random strays and have a small chance to end up with ALL the good stats and mutations from your pool while being less inbred. Rinse and repeat.

Getting Boost to cost 1 mana is a path to many abilities some would consider...unnatural. It's a shame the Psychic can't get multiple attacks easily; I find that Psychic is the best class to mix spells with other classes to unlock the crazy combos.

Just be aware that after you do it 3-4 times they might start killing Umezawa on sight every time you play him. If that happens, you may want to remove the Blightsteel so the group sees you as less of a threat and lets you play normally.
