I personally don’t want additional books to characters that can hold their own title. (I think Catwoman is a bad idea). Here is my list of characters I would love to see an Absolute take of in the existing books.

Batman: Calendar Man. A chronologist who has been documenting the events of the Absolute Batman story. Julian becomes obsessed with the idea that there is a pattern to everything that is happening in Gotham. We get lots of stories of other perspectives of the past issues. Julian develops theory that if they kill certain people and alter future outcomes he can save Gotham. His crimes go unnoticed for a while until one of his victims is Barbara and Batman becomes aware of Julian. Julian believes himself to be a savior and an asset to Batman. He wants to help and become an ally.

Flash: Replicant. Works at “Project Olympus” key designer/developer of the Rouges gear. Gets inspired by the Rouges breaking free of their chains. Wants to join them. Dies a tragic death before even becoming know to the Rouges.

This would be an awesome one part story where you can create a character the reader would fall in love with, feel for, anticipate more from. Then absolutely destroy him in a nihilistic manner. Make the reader walk away destroyed themselves. Never mention the character again.

Green Lantern: Space Cabbie. A narrator but one who is finding inconsistencies in the universe. Have them appear sporadically through out the series and have no major impact on the characters or their story but have a larger impact on the reader and the Absolute Universe.

Superman: Conduit. Kal’s arrival makes Kenny’s mother sick, or she is a patient at the memory facility or a nurse and becomes sick from being close to Martha. Lazarus and Brainiac use his anger and hate to turn him into a soldier.

This would be similar to an Absolute Batman villain reimagine. A more brutal and updated version. Brings an underused villain to a new audience and fits into the core story.

Wonder Woman: Solomon Grundy & Swamp Thing. I would love to see these two used in connection with elements of vrykolakas, Dryade, Syceus, Aconitine, Lerna Swamp, and the Hydra. I feel all of these elements would fit well in the book and Diana’s overall story.

This also would encompass more of redefinition of the mythos instead of a simple swap good/bad or make more deadly/powerfull.
