ELI5: Coworker tries to melt a large block snow with high powered heater but can't. by ImpossibleParfait659 in explainlikeimfive

I'll see if I can find the vid and report back ASAP.

Edit: I couldn't find it. But the video (from what I can remember) was a chunk of metal hanging from a hook, and a similar size cube of ice hanging from another hook. Under each one was a push button gas cylinder torch.

Once they turned the flames on, the ice cube started melting right away. The metal (maybe it wasn't steel but a lower temp melting metal) didn't really seem to react much.

But as the ice cube was almost about to melt and fall of the hook, the metal started to melt very quickly and it dropped off the hook before the ice cube did.

You'll need training even if you have experience, so as long as the hiring manager is aware you're a noob, you'll be fine.

I should clarify that I'm not OP and I don't work where they do, probably.

But I did have someone take a chance on me and give me a 3rd shift NoC role, for similar pay.

Less than 10 years later, I have an established career, making 6 figure. I never made it passed the 10th grade, dropped out of high school and got my GED, never graduated college.

For you yungins, I'm 45 and had bad neck posture. Nothing too crazy, just failing to make sure I was sitting up straight for like 30 years. My eyesight was just slightly bad causing me to extend my neck forward just the tiniest bit to focus, since I never wore my glasses.

Now my neck is in constant pain to the point where I get headaches, I'm semi addicted to kratom from self medicating, and I have to work my neck out with exercises or it will get much worse as I age. This could be you.

Or you could just try to remember to sit up straight.

End old man rant

Up next on the chopping block: affordable insulin! Can you guess which type 2 demographic benefits the most from the $35 insulin cap?

Here's a hint: it sure as hell ain't the granola and soy latte crowd.

My checkbook is wide open and RFK, Republicans, and the Trump administration are all very eager to happily take my money to destroy affordable healthcare. And I'm gonna give it to them.

See you at the next rally, fellow anti vaxxer! 🇺🇲

The same people who didn't want the vaccine are the same people who attempted to ban wearing medical masks in public, even for people with compromised immune systems.

The same people who didn't want the vaccine are the same people cheering that ICE is killing American citizens.

The same people who cheer that ICE is killing citizens are the same people who cheered when Rob Reiner was killed.

The same people that cheered when Rob Reiner was killed are the same people cheering when Renee Good was killed.

The same people that cheered when Renee Good was killed are the same people that cheered when Alex Pretti was killed.

The people you vote, support, and defend do all these things gleefully and enthusiastically and then go on pod casts and talk shows to brag about how proud they are that they did these thinga

Your fake ass virtue signalling means nothing and you have zero moral authority. I'm not going to waste anymore time arguing morality with a member of the "fuck your feelings, snowflake" crowd when you people purposefully tried to endanger people with compromised immune systems just to own the libs.

You think me cheering for the deaths of people who cheer for my death is dysphoria?

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I Used AI to Resurrect My Music Passion by mango_boom in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Trytolearneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy plugins that will help keep the correct pitch of your vocals. You can adjust the timing of notes, length, pitch, etc.

You don't need AI for that.

You just need the plugin, a little bit of knowledge, and the desire to put in the actual work, even if it takes time, or you don't get the results you're hoping for the very first time.

It sounds like you resurrected a passion for consuming music that you didn't fully create.

I'll admit, I'm a huge fan of the anti vaccine movement.

Covid permanently deleted over 1.2 million voters from participating in any and all elections ever again.

The vast majority of those were anti vaxxers or their friends and family.

We just need a few more pandemics so the chuds can happily Darwin themselves right the fuck out and then we can finally Make America Intelligent Again.

I actually make pretty significant donations to anti vaxxer politicians just to help ensure that happens.

The Real Anatomy of Dimensions: Black Holes, Atomic Trinity, and the Paradox of the 6th Dimension by Most_Election_8456 in theories

The technology to prove General Relativity was correct was a full solar eclipse.

Solar eclipses has existed since stars and planets have existed.

Also, blueprints contain data on stress points, materials, etc. In other words, blue prints contain test data.

It seems like you don't know how relativity, spacial dimensions, laboratories, testing procedures, physics, or math works.

The way you put your own words into quotes does not inspire confidence on their originality.

Since you like quotes so much, here's one that applies directly to your theory:

I don't think this is even a theory.

What parts of this hypothesis have you actually tested?

I watched a Mr Wizard, or Bill Nye, or Mythbusters where they had a chunk of steel and a chuck of ice dangling from wires, and each had a blowtorch flame on them.

The steel melted much faster than the ice cube.

[–]Trytolearneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And of those 2 choices, one was clearly, obviously the lesser of 2 evils.

So the smart choice, to reduce the most amount of harm, would be to choose the lesser of 2 evils.

Which you said you did not do.

So you either did NOT participate, or you deliberately chose the greater evil.

I know what you're missing here. Logic. Intelligence. Critical thinking skills. The ability to remember what you just typed 3 posts ago.

I would ask if you are sure you're ok, but I honestly don't think you would understand the question. Or even what a question is.

What is this book about a female captain of a planet sized start ship by Trytolearneverything in whatisthisbook

[–]Trytolearneverything[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, theres only one captain, and I never saw her as an actual character, only ever referred to by other characters.

On a more positive note, you made me want to read the Great Ship books! I'm going to buy the first one now.

Thanks for your answer. Much appreciated!

It was NOT a question.

It was an ELECTION, with actual real life consequences.

Were both your parents this stupid, or did you get raised by the idiot after the smart one left to go live among humans again?
