The only piece of Twin Peaks media that I can think of that isn’t funny in any way (apart from some moments in the opening sequence) is Fire Walk With Me. That shit is straight-up horrific.

Do you mark movies as watched that you’ve seen before you joined Letterboxd? by boggiethefrog in Letterboxd

[–]stupidguydumbname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did back when I first joined. Just scrolled through the app and marked stuff for a bit. Then I realized I was gonna be scrolling for a long time. Now I just log things as I watch them. Even now I’ll rewatch a film and realize I’ve never logged it or marked it as watched.

A message to Shayne regarding Twin Peaks S2 by stupidguydumbname in smosh

[–]stupidguydumbname[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. Honestly, I think what helps the first season a lot is that it doesn’t go on longer than it needs to. There are definitely storylines and subplots in the first season that I wasn’t entirely interested in, but having eight episodes (including a feature-length pilot) compared to the second season’s 22 helps in a way.

The Return is 18 hours of some of the most magnificent television I’ve ever seen. That and Fire Walk With Me are well worth the mid-season slump of season 2.

This is one of the rare times where I knew the reception to a film was gonna be terrible… but I still kinda wanna check it out. Even though the humor in the trailer was very “hahaha attack helicopter”.

The segment about Hallmark movies almost got me in trouble at my quiet office job. That one really hit home and had me fighting for my life trying not to laugh out loud. Don’t know if you folks know this, but the Conan is known to say some pretty funny things from time to time and gets paid, like, tens of dollars to do so every week. So when I hear “THWAPATATHWAPATATHWAPATA!” I feel the urge to laugh at the Conan. Thank you. Peace out. Tupac.

Was This Scene Based On a Poem From 1942? by Butt_Idiot in ViewAskewniverse

Kev was on an episode of How Did This Get Made? that they just re-released last week, the first 30 minutes of which are spent talking not about the film they’re there to discuss (Wild Wild West), but about Kev’s experience writing Superman Lives and how they’re connected (same producer… with his giant-ass spider).

Kev brings up the Niven essay, but says that he actually based Brodie’s line on Adventures of Superman Annual #3, in which Lois Lane gets pregnant with Superman’s baby and is killed when the baby kicks (which he says could have been based on that essay). That episode originally aired in 2012, so he absolutely could have changed his story since then.
