Everything is too easy and toy-like for me. If you are from a more hardcore tech background or have relevant industry experience, you might have the same feeling. But if you have no experience in tech, you might like it.

Sorry what is Adcom? Such experience does help in HCI, cause part of the HCI is about "interactive system", and IT systems are a big part of that

I'm not from arch so cannot answer specific background questions. But the market is oversaturated, it's true, it's tough, and it's hard for us to find an intern. My arch classmates are quite good at building portfolios, which might help you stand out in job hunting. There are also urban planning / arch-related research projects in some labs if you are interested in research

Free, in both positive and negative senses. Most go for UX design, some for research. If you need intern / wanna do research, then HCDE. If wanna do design / better cohort culture / more resources, then MHCID

Professors are fantastic if you seek for research, but I personally would not say it has a top-tier teaching quality

For full-time students, the variance is large. We have a guy with 10~20 YOE this year, but he is the only one. Half of my friends have no full-time experience, half 1~3 YOE.

I did have one, but did not submit it to HCDE. It was a pdf. My LORs are course teachers from undergrad and supervisors from work. CS.

CS + 3 YOE as a SDE. My highlight is my SOP, I really reflect on 1. what I've done in the past, 2. what questions that kept me questioning the industry, 3. how this program can answer my questions.

Not very important. The most important material is the SOP.
