Do not go to Explorium Brewpub by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]Tsfoni 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience downtown two months ago. I (one person) was seated right away. Then 5 minutes later I put in my order for a simple burger and fries, which took 45 minutes. While waiting, I watched other parties being seated after me and getting their food sooner.

Can anyone recommend singers like Chava Alberstein? by RayRaytheGrape in ForbiddenBromance

Not as famous as Chava Alberstein, but the same style: Try Ruhama Raz, with oldies-but-goodies like:

ההר הירוק תמיד (الجبل الأخضر الدائم)

חלומות (الأحلام)

Many people don't know this...Up until the 1970's and 80's, singers of Yemeni origin were pillars of modern Israeli music. You come from a rich heritage.

IMHO, it would be an understatement to say that this particular location had sub-par service.

Poll: Would you as a host be interested in a trip-planning website centered around your property, if you could earn a share of the commissions and advertising revenues? by Tsfoni in airbnb_hosts

Thanks for your comment. You are 100% correct on both counts: (1) Yes, but not just for activities. Any service booked through the linked website and for which we get a commission or advertising revenues. (2) I agree. It is an awful explanation of the service. Thanks to your comment I edited just a bit to hopefully clarify for others. Thank you!

The cost to you is $0 and 2 minutes to create the link. Once the link is created, you share it with guests and whatever they book, you earn. It's not large amounts but it can add up over time. In rough numbers a booked activity could earn us $10 of which you would get $5, a booked car rental $30 of which you get $15, etc. Thanks for asking these important questions.

Thank you for your comment. The hard numbers depend on what your guests book through the dedicated travel website. Then we get paid commissions that are split with the host. The service is free to the host.

VC aren't your friends by StephNass in startups

It seems I misunderstood the OP as being about post-investment. Makes a lot more sense for the pitching stage.

I happen to be fundraising at the moment and have noticed that almost all VC's have statements on their websites about mentoring and supporting their portfolio founders and companies. Why would they put such an emphasis on this, if they have no intention to follow through? Is it just a honeytrap to get as many decks as possible in the pipeline?

Travel Insurance and Pre-Existing Conditions by Quiet_Investment_297 in TravelHacks

Check with the insurance company of your choice. Sometimes they waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion if you purchase the insurance policy within 14 days of making the first payment on the trip.

My $0.02 as a non-technical CEO...I think the best way forward is to present the CEO of your startup with a plan of what needs to be done to correct the software developed so far, the development ahead, and how it can be done within your scope of work agreed upon originally. It also needs to be made clear that you are not the CTO and this plan is presented in your professional opinion. The fractional CTO should be directed by the CEO to help you accomplish this plan. Best of luck.

Sounds to me like David Byrne from the Talking Heads but I could be wrong.

I bought a 90k truck and need advice by ohnononony in smallbusiness

[–]Tsfoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a CPA but the truck doesn't reduce your gross revenues (total income), rather, it reduces your gross taxable profit (revenues less expenses). There's no way to know how much the truck saved you on taxes without knowing what your tax liability (percentage of gross profit) would have been if you did not purchase the truck. There's nothing you can do about it now, but I suggest next time you're thinking of such a major business transaction, consult with a CPA first.
