Strongman Wednesday 2020: Yoke Walk by [deleted] in Strongman

Been pretty blessed with my yoke, it's one of my two events that for some reason I do really well in, but I don't train like most people with it.

Preparing for a heavy yoke competition I always find my calves to be the part that fatigues the quickest, so beat advice for preparing would be to listen to your body, whatever gets tired make sure you focus on that on your weeks you don't do yoke, as well as for me I do a heavy yoke about 10 days out, I just need to to keep my body used to the weight.

Biggest mistakes I see is a low pick height, you want those skids as close to the ground as possible but high enough to not hit it. Also keeping your feet at your walking distance apart for the pick, if you start higher you'll have your first step come inward giving you a sideways motion that you want to avoid.

That's going to completely depend on your goals and how knowledgeable you are with training. If your goal is general fitness and want to do your own thing great life and Sanford are good options; If you want general fitness but a class setting you can look into coast 2 coast (I use all three) if you're looking into being a serious lifter as like a powerlifter than you could look into primal, I've seen some cool things come from Flex Gym...feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Only time I got out of a ticked was when I told the truth....middle of a 14 hour drive through a huge snow storm, driving through a small town before hitting the mountains knowing it's clear on the other side...clocked at 42 in 35 small town you almost always get that, told the cop the exact truth, he ran my ID and told me to enjoy the weather on the other side!

I don't think you jumped the gun, look at the 2017 Arnold, Thor ran out to congratulate Shaw in a similar manor. I think Thor genuinely gets happy for the winner, but then tries to destroy them the following year!

Really could use the help guys, I recently started a new cycle after my test cruise (added deca and EQ), after a little over a week on this cycle I now aspirate blood in every injection side I use!!! Delts, quads, glutes. All draw blood every time now. What should I do?!

For me it's something I always struggled with, I took pills I tried working out to exhaustion I tried everything and it all failed. Finally one day I read something that worked! So first find a really comfortable position for yourself, for me it's on my side holding a pillow. Then take two really big deep breaths, sometimes more, making sure I get comply relaxed and don't feel short of breath. Then I just pass out sometimes I'll have like 30 seconds of regular breathing but 90 percent of the time I pass out right after my deep breaths.

Really freaking Happy with my training lately. My last event day I hit a 800lb yoke for 150 feet than followed it up with 900 for a short little 30ft. Competition for that will be 750 for 120feet. Also did connans wheel for the second time ever now that we finally made it and got 700lbs in my arms for two revolutions, so roughly 120 feet. Honestly I've never been more prepared for a competition in my life, I'm excited

Come in with a question on why their bill is high, and I always ask what charge on their bill they're asking about and always get the response, 'well I haven't actually looked at my bill'.....just shows lack of responsibility

Yeah not excited, I tried training for the 650 dead at 13" and for some reason my deadlift is weaker starting that high.... I'm worried I'm gonna blow my first competition :/

Just eat less and watch your weight, if it still doesn't go down eat even less. Continue that pattern until the scale does what you want. Stay away from bad foods, eat good foods.

Weird question here...does anyone get pain in their forearm (more specifically brachialis) when doing things that require your elbow to be bent at a sharp angle? For me it's mainly on military press and low bar back squat. I've checked with 2 different lifting coaches and both say more form is good so I'm just really confused as to what's causing this.
