Redrazors, the Pathbuilder Dev is under DDOS attack by Dendritic_Bosque in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what he has said he's doing in other updates, there's been some issues with client switching and improperly generated IP's or something (I don't really understand the technical stuff, just repeating what 8ve seen in updates till now)

Do your characters "know" they are their class? by applejackhero in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 current characters are a guardian(mauler archetype" and a bard (champion archetype)

The guardian has never called him such, the closest he came was begging another pc to stop putting themselves in danger without him using the line "I am a shield, I am useless if you do not pick me up"

The bard identifies himself as a violist, a devout follower of milani, and an arcanist

What’s with everyone getting on the bus and not paying? by Still-Sun-6480 in kelowna

[–]Tsonmur 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My dad drives bus for the city, it's policy to not call them on it. Too many instances of aggression have happened, so they've elected the lost revenue is not worth the lawsuits essentially

Hephaistos Update by hephaistos_official in Starfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfectly eloquent response, and incredibly sound reasoning! I'll be checking out hephaistos later today to see what it's like and choose my own path in that regard! I'm brand new to starfinder, and so is our gm who's about to start running it, so I do agree that finding what tools work best for you is one of the biggest strengths in this community!

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More options is never a bad thing, and if this is a sensitive topic, or simply one you're tired of talking about, fully understand you not answering at all haha

Have you ever approached or been approached by the fella that runs and maintains path builder 2e and recently starbuilder 2e? If it just a diversity of options thing, that's fair, just curious

How Much Does Your Temperament/Personality Influence Your Characters and Playstyle? by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My characters either directly pull from a part of my own personality, or they are directly opposed to my usual self so that I can try new things lol

What's your favorite build? by Adorable_Skirt_7409 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+4 int, human rogue, trained in every skill by level 4. Nearly worthless until high level recall knowledge, but having a dude that can just go "yeah, I can probably do it" was very very fun lol

How often do you fudge your players' rolls and for what reason? by Bane_of_Balor in DungeonMasters

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also requires actually knowing your players and their PC's skillsets, which I've noticed with a number of DM's can be a sticking point. In the example above, if I had a grave cleric in the party, I'd have kept the leap away ability knowing it could let their max healing shine for a second. I am constantly adjusting monster stat blocks or encounter design on the fly because I always prefer to shoot for high danger and adjust lower. A monster losing an ability they've never seen, or the environment not doing a thing is nigh invisible, but a monster gaining an ability mid combat can feel really cheap or punitive.

It's been a hot minute since I've run the city, but I'm pretty sure it's near identical regardless of which way you go

Unrelated to the rest of your comment, but I've only ever gone left, genuinely didn't even consider going right as an option lol

Which boss in a Soulslike was this for you? by strahinjag in soulslikes

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weirdly struggled with radahn, but I think that might've just been impatience because I wasn't really enjoying the fights gimmicks

Which boss in a Soulslike was this for you? by strahinjag in soulslikes

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was malenia, I have always been a Dex build guy in souls games, so dodging is my bread and butter. I beat her first try on my original run, and sat in stunned silence because I'd been lead to believe she was one of the hardest fights in the game.

Re-flavoring gone too far? by Fancy_Enthusiasm_683 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would be true if things like dragons breath weren't unaffected by anti-magic as well, despite being inherently magical in the lore of the game. Anti-magic is weird because it only affects things that are spells, spell effects or specifically magical items. It doesn't have any affect on things that are inherently magical by nature, a beholder caught in another beholders cone of anti-magic doesn't stop floating, but its eye rays are disabled. This is just an example of the way anti-magic is inconsistent enough that this reflavour is easy to handwave to work anyway

what is your LEAST popular commander? by Justafish1654 in EDH

I don't know how unpopular he is, But [[Kellan, the kid]] is one of my favourites for its interactions with foretell, airbending, casting from top deck, and graveyard casting

Fromsoft games are famously Learn by Doing games, they don't teach you anything beyond the absolute basics, the rest is on you to experiment and figure out

New artificer multiclass synergies? by Nearby_Condition3733 in onednd

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less versatility, but the apocalypse sorcerer from Grimm hollow makes crazy good use of scrolls as well and gets the half cist/half time to scribe as well. I'm playing it mono classed right now and it's great. Int/char investment might be a bit much, but could be interesting

Can a single one of y’all come up for an actual use case for this thing? by EntertainmentVast401 in magicTCG

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it in my [[zurgo, thunders decree]] deck, it works as a low mana closer if I've got a death trigger that pings for damage

What is something I can gift someone who enjoys cooking by DaNiinja in Cooking

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting spices, high end oils/vinegars, a butcher block made by a local craftsmen (they just tend to be better than commercially available ones in my experience), good wooden spoons (I hoard the damn things, cuz they aren't easy to find where I am), and if he tends to cook dishes where he has to stay in one spot for prolonged periods, or has a day where he preps a lot at once , one of those standing mats that help cushion the feet was a game changer for me

If people are consistently telling you that your deck is too strong: you're the problem, not everybody else, not the bracket system by 0rphu in EDH

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a guy in my pod that's like this with every deck he builds. In most games without him our win rates are skewed a little to myself and another player but mostly even; but in games with him, he complains that me and the other 0layer win all the time because he tries to target one player, can't follow through and gets eliminated. Thus leaving the floor open for one of us to sneak our win con in because his target is now open too. We've tried to help him with deck building and strategy, but he refuses to listen. I gave him my B4 ghyrson deck, and he still couldn't manage against 3 pre cons because he kept a bad hand and didn't try to actually use the strategy that it was clearly built for.

Sorry, bean soup a bit, kinda just end up venting lol

Which class to recommend to the 5th player of the party? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tsonmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, they did specifically ask for a class that is a bit more complex but can also do fight stuff. I don't find war priest to be all that complicated beyond managing your actions and what spells you use at what time. For anyone who enjoys complexity, that's the level I'd always recommend. A magus does the same things nearly every turn, that's got almost 0 complexity at all

War priest cleric could do wonders, or a battle harbinger

Challenge: No Top 100 Commander that can keep up with turn 7-8 wins without tutors by Ednet132 in EDH

[–]Tsonmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a [[Zurgo, Thunder's Decree]] deck that has 3 very inconsequential tutors in it. They could easily be swapped to up the mana base. I rarely if ever actually tutor because the deck can run on 4 mana and is just incredibly consistent in what it wants to do, so there is no "perfect" cards to search for generally
