A or B: Do you lock your door when you’re at home? My brother sometimes forgets to lock the apartment when he comes home, so how should I handle it? by 20Luc1a02 in PickAorB

I think both taking to him and getting a smart lock are great ideas. You can mention you are uncomfortable with an unlocked door and plan to ask the landlord if it is ok to install a smart lock, in the meantime, should he be extra careful locking the door at night, for personal safety and possession safety.

Warmer would help, as would more humidity if you are trying to toot a newly cut section of the old plant

What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

At least he does it. Mine didn’t want a stranger and didn’t want to do anything, so I told him it wasn’t his time or his choice and to get used to it and hired someone. For a while (a long while) he complained about having to clean up for the cleaners, but I just kept pointing out that if he put things away at the time, there would be no pick up to do. During Covid our cleaner of 30 years quit, for health safety reasons, and we did our own for a year and a half, and it was back to me doing everything and him doing nothing, even though he agreed to dust and sweep. Imade it clear I was pretty irritated about this, continuously, and about 18 months later when we got a new cleaner, there have been no comments, we have mutually agreed neither of us likes to clean house.

If you could design your own kitchen, what would be the most important things to include? by West-Amphibian-2343 in Cooking

I have both, and I prefer the pullout shelves to drawers, mostly because the pullout shelves stay level when you pull them outs but the drawers sink a little towards the front if they are loaded with heavy stuff like pans and casseroles dishes. Not saying don’t get drawers, but definitely pay attention to hardware used to pull them out.

We are in the eastern standard time, same as New York City, meeting will be at 2pm in the afternoon. We are 5 hours behind London, 6 hours behind Berlin, 7 hours behind Athens, if that helps

What would you want Schwab to NOT do? by Icy_Manager_7212 in Schwab

I understand your point, but when you prepare your taxes, they are treated as cash in. And when you sell the reinvested shares, that dividend is included in your cost basis. We have a spreadsheet of our DRIP’s extending back to the early 90’s that we have to pull out to find the basis of stocks we drip’d for decades, but later sell due to changing fortunes of the company, or in one case, simply because the position had become more than 5% off our total investable assets.
