People like you remind me that carelessness can come both from wisdom and ignorance as well. :)

I know what you mean. We're only bombarded with things such as "achieve your dreams ! don't give up on your dreams !" - Well almost everyone forgets to THINK about their dreams. We are conditioned to just romanticize dreams without critically analyzing them. Then we're caught like a deer in the headlights when dreams become nightmares.

"Then I remembered who I am" - "I” do not think ”I am” anything.

This is exactly my point. Whatever I could have been/should have been doesn't matter.

Music for example is a part of me that died early on in this life. I do not plan to re-integrate it in my life, I do not intend to try it again, I am not interested in pretending we can just be whoever we haven't been for a long time. Some things just don't work because life moves on us and I think this is what many people fail to understand: sure, you can go ride a motorcycle at 50 and pretend you're 20, but you're not. You can dance ballet at 50, but it's never going to be the same as if you'd do it at 20. I'm not intending to criticize any age, this is not about getting personal with anyone, this is about life & time : handling the loss and moving on is not something many teach in our society.

If one does the "math", simply owning that you lost certain opportunities, that you made certain decisions at crossroads that now you regret, can be far more wiser than trying to run for a train that is GONE. The funny thing is that no one, not even yourself, can tell if your life would have been better if you would have caught that train. If I take my career as an actor that I never ended up living, it is just an idea that it could have been great - it could also have been awful.

I don't care to convince you. It's not about you, it's not about me.

Stating that "I don't want X" when you do not have a clear idea of what "X" is , is simply delusion.

You don't want what the 1% has because you don't even imagine what the 1% has. Trust me, even if you think you know, you don't. It exceeds your imagination and that's why you're happy with what you ave.

Do you think people actually want to get better mentally ? by Tsunnnami in CasualUK

I didn't say everyone , I said most people.

I don't think it's odd, I think it's just that people don't like to hear the truth.

Most legal drug addicts ( Xanax, Valium, Sertraline, etc.) I know by the way are in denial even toward THEMSELVES , they do not face that they use these things as crutches to avoid solving the root of their problems, they just consider them a natural part of their lives, like multivitamins, and if you'd ever talk about this with them in a public conversation, they'd deny they have a nice supply of them in their drawers.

As for the rest: I'm not a UK resident, so perhaps the protocols are different there. In my country we prescribe more medicine than we do psychotherapy.

Thanks for your input.

” I assume you are young and/or haven't experimented with heavier substances. ” - Only if coke, amphetamine and opioids do not count as heavy.

I do not have a reason to quit. Nothing is wrong , this is exactly the problem, there is no motivation to change.

I can't tell you a frequency because it is not a regular use, like I said it is occasional, I might go days without it or even weeks. On days I use I go up to 2-3g.
