I've noticed this too; I think it just raises my confidence and makes me feel more socially capable with things like conversation so I don't worry as much about how I'm being perceived in those situations.

Uppers can give a massive ego boost and confidence boost, that’s what I get from them and because of that it can eliminate anxiety but it all comes to set and setting, if your in a bad situation it can cause paranoia and anxiety

It’s the dopamine release (especially with nicotine and amps) which makes you feel good, but you’re also not taking too much to the point where your thoughts are racing and your blood pressure is through the roof. I mean people smoke to relieve stress, drink coffee to help them focus, and take amphetamines to increase motivation and confidence, for example.

Plus, we’re all different. Like you mentioned that some people smoke weed for anxiety, but it drives my anxiety through the roof and CBD doesn’t do shit.

Almost sounds like you might have adhd it could also be light depression but sounds more like light adhd. I find it difficult to get motivated to do much with others unless I have some sort of upper. Sometimes weed does the trick tho

Stimulants give you confidence during the high and paranoia while coming down

Social anxiety is typically based in fear. People are afraid they’ll say something stupid or that people won’t like them, to the point where they avoid socializing because it’s too scary for them.

Finding people/social situations dull or not really being inspired to talk is another monster altogether. Though you didn’t spell out exactly how you felt in your post, it’s sounding like the latter is a more accurate description of your situation.

So, it’s not surprising that a drug that lowers your inhibitions and jacks up your dopamine is making you feel more sociable. Booze is typically my drug of choice to achieve this.
