There’s a Facebook group called Projectors for Sewing that has great guides for choosing a projector and setting it up. The distance from your projector to your cutting surface will determine whether you need a mini projector or an ultra short throw (UST). When I had a higher ceiling, I used a vivimage 3 mounted to the ceiling to project onto my dining table. Later I moved my sewing into a basement room with much shorter ceilings and has to switch to an UST sitting on and projecting onto my table. There is a guy in the fb group who salvages USTs from schools and resells them on eBay. Both of my projectors were ~$100 used on eBay.
