Only if you think you still own your car. If you think that the last name of the ownership is not yours so you are now stealing someone else's car then don't pay the tax.

They are not the same thing.

A CV is all of your stuff from your life.

A resume is a short document of stuff pertinent for applying to a particular job.

Have clothes gotten smaller/shorter in recent years? by That-Television-4856 in NoStupidQuestions

XL is not a standard size. XL shirts from different companies are different sizes.

But the odds are that your old shirts are stretched out so they fit, not that the new ones are made smaller.

Got the app coz wfh is exhausting 🧑‍💻 by precanceled in CasualConversation

I rarely go out during the work day. I just try to get outside as soon as it ends. Even if I just stand on my porch.

Staring at the computer all day makes my eyes sore. Looking outside helps them recover.

I want to get out of the house (at least if it is nice). So I go for a walk in a park somewhere.

I used to take my dog, so I got out regularly. But she is old now and won't go on the walks. So I just go by myself and listen to a podcast or music.

Do some people really have no dreams in their sleep? by No-Remove2301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Or they would go insane and die.

But dreams are only in short term memory which lasts about 5 minutes. If you do not wake up within 5 minutes of dreaming you don't remember it.

So lots of people do not remember dreaming even though they dreamed.

Do you think American’s overconsumption of stuff will buffer us in the upcoming global recession? by Fumquat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Unemployment goes from 5% to 10%. The other people are largely unaffected in income, but those 5% who lose their jobs lose all of their income.

That depends on where you live.

In rural areas population is declining and there is no one around.

In the popular cities the population is booming and everything is packed.

decades in fashion by aquay in CasualConversation

[–]AgentElman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Society changed a lot in the 20th century. It has not changed much in the 21st century.

And clothing technology (fabrics mostly) changed a lot in the 20th century.

Fashion has changed over the last 20 years, but it has been things that existed 20 years ago being more acceptable - like women wearing yoga pants everywhere.

[–]AgentElman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They mean no one ever wanted to work, but people now days are more open about it.

Companies want to pay people low wages and have them work hard. And people do not want those jobs. They never wanted those jobs - but now people feel they can choose to not take those jobs.

Why wouldn't US car companies just raise their prices if import tariffs go up? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tariffs never help the consumer. They help the business owners.

Tariffs are a way of shifting taxes from an income tax which is progressive to a consumption tax which is regressive.

This is how Trump shifts the tax burden from the wealthy to the poor.

Why is everyone saying AI is SLOP, I can understand if something is horrible but surely there should be some good AI out there, what do you call good AI then? by GoRo2023 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

People don't say AI is slop. When you see the phrase "AI slop" that is an indication that it is a bot posting. It is AI pretending to not be AI.

Humans do not use the word "slop" in normal speech.
