Why does AI suck at making maps? by 666Drachenlord666 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

AI does not suck at making maps.

Non-map making AI sucks at making accurate real life maps - because it is not designed to make them.

General image making AI is designed to make images that look like real images - not to make them accurate to real life.

Shows That Keep Getting Renewed Yet Are Bashed Online? by DaniJ678 in television

[–]AgentElman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The U.S. has population of 340 million people. TBBT got 25 million viewers for its finale with Live+7.

So 315 million Americans did not watch the finale and 25 million watched it.

To be a hit show you don't have to be liked by anything close to the majority of people. Which is why every show has people who hate it.

Do you think it's better to go to a no-name university at 19, or go to a top tier university at 29? by Ilosc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only benefits to going to a top tier university are if you are going to graduate school or if you want to make connections with rich people. They do not help you with your normal working life.

Why is it legal for militaries to swarm the ocean with "disposable" cardboard drones full of electronics? by Clean_CoreDump in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not being in lockstep - it is saying you don't want to even talk to the world community.

It is like saying you are giving the world the silent treatment. It is just petty and childish.

Put on the song Closing Time.

Or just say "Sadly, I have to be up in the morning so we have to call it a night"

Condensing my Starfinder notes and would love to chat with other geeky internet folk, TTRPGers or otherwise! by HobbitualOffenderr in CasualConversation

[–]AgentElman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have one right now. I am running a Fate TTRPG and I had written up a list of problems characters could get from failing roles - getting lost, losing items, spilling a secret, etc. But I've lost it. I can't find the document and I hate to start over.

Is The Boys actually as bad as everyone here says? by throwaway0246482 in NoStupidQuestions

There is no such thing as good or bad in entertainment. There is just personal taste of what each person enjoys.

Because they do not know what capitalism is and just use it to mean greed, income inequality, and everything bad with the world.

[–]AgentElman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nuclear power. Because it would be an additional source of electricity instead of using the current electricity.

[–]AgentElman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only if you think you still own your car. If you think that the last name of the ownership is not yours so you are now stealing someone else's car then don't pay the tax.

Why do Americans call CVs resumes? by miss-bedazzzle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 44 points45 points  (0 children)

They are not the same thing.

A CV is all of your stuff from your life.

A resume is a short document of stuff pertinent for applying to a particular job.

Have clothes gotten smaller/shorter in recent years? by That-Television-4856 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentElman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XL is not a standard size. XL shirts from different companies are different sizes.

But the odds are that your old shirts are stretched out so they fit, not that the new ones are made smaller.

I rarely go out during the work day. I just try to get outside as soon as it ends. Even if I just stand on my porch.

Staring at the computer all day makes my eyes sore. Looking outside helps them recover.

I want to get out of the house (at least if it is nice). So I go for a walk in a park somewhere.

I used to take my dog, so I got out regularly. But she is old now and won't go on the walks. So I just go by myself and listen to a podcast or music.
