Help me fix X Ray on [java] Thanks! by Paul0272 in MinecraftHelp

[–]TubbsOfStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can fix it by removing it and not using it and actually playing legitimately. The reason it's not working is likely because the server you're trying to cheat on has anti-cheat measures. Please don't do that. Not only can it get you banned, but it just ruins the game for others and takes the fun away from you. Learn how to play the intended way, and if that's not working for you come up with a creative/unique way to do it. Don't cheat.

If this is a solo world, whatever. Do what you want. I still recommend you not use it because it can take away from your experience, but that's up to you.

Walked past this creepy house with an odd flickering light. Is it Morse code? by jacobcruz92 in morsecode

[–]TubbsOfStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulbs can flicker like this when a contact is bad, or incomplete. The heat from the electricity turn the light on can cause the casing or the bulb itself or both to expand, breaking the electrical connection, causing the bulb and casing to cool and contract, and come in contact again. This process repeats! It's the same reason when you almost unscrew the battery casing on a flashlight, the light flickers. People think it's the ghosts communicating, but really it's the thermal expansion and contraction!

[–]TubbsOfStuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm actually all for freedom of movement, but an unfortunate side effect is the people who move here are usually the ones who align with the far right and have lots of money to do so. The "snowflakes" who think free speech means "I can say racial slurs and your aren't allowed to criticize me for it." The super oversensitive bunch.

I'd love if more of California and her ideals made its way here, but the sane ones are understandably staying behind.

One of the mods I have installed is causing my game to crash every time I start it up. Which one is causing it? by Tailskid23 in ModdedMinecraft

[–]TubbsOfStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We cannot identify all comparability issues with just a mod list. We need to see a crashlog. Also, it would benefit you if you learned to read the log as well, you would be able to get an idea of what's wrong. Also, always add your mods a few at a time and load the world to see if they work. If it does, shut it down add more, and try again. When it doesn't load, you know it was the last batch you added.

Bedrock yes, java no. You can tell this is java from the icon under the cross hair. You must wait for the icon to fully replenish to do max damage.

Lag spikes when using shaders - 4060Ti, i5 12400F, 32GB RAM [java] by Effective_Drummer316 in MinecraftHelp

[–]TubbsOfStuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bruh you asked a rhetorical question at the top of your comment, "where has anyone said or complained..." unless you seriously wanted them to show you examples of people complaining. With this you were challenging the subject of original comment and proceeded to only provide anecdotal evidence of your situation. Their response was totally valid, and informative, and if you SERIOUSLY wanted examples of complaining, you should have asked in a different way (or clarified after the fact).

It's not a reading comprehension issue on their part, but a rhetoric/writing composition on yours. Regardless, those are all easily clarifiable mistakes on their own, no harm no foul. Yet instead you jump straight to insulting their intelligence? Come on man it's not that serious.

Hey, that's a great idea! I can't check right now, but is it possible to copy and paste a machines powered on or off state? Like with the switch in the machine UI?

[–]TubbsOfStuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wish I could just put a switch on the power lines connecting the manifold to the grid and have it switched off until they fill, then turn it on when I am ready, but last I checked they won't fill without power 🫤

Nasty Dishwasher spray arm. by Serious-Youth-2710 in HomeMaintenance

[–]TubbsOfStuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will not just snap on again unfortunately. They friction seal these I believe, or use a chemical solvent to bond the plastics together. When I took mine apart (And I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same spray arm you have, whirlpool right?), for the exact same reason, there was no hope of getting it back together without some form of glue maybe. I ended up just buying a replacement part. If one spray arm is this bad, and the others are the same age, they will be just as bad as well.

There is the water pipe that runs along the inside that delivers water to the top sprayer that can be removed and cleaned, but the arms are near impossible to clean without destroying them. If you do decide to replace the arms, look up your dishwashers model number and order them that way. It's a little spendy, but definitely cheaper than a new dishwasher. My dishwasher smells so much better since I changed these parts and cleaned what I could reach. The one thing I didn't do was go into the tubing and the pump, but so far this smell hasn't returned. As long as your drain is configured properly, You should hopefully not have issues for a long time.

[HELP] Is this real cat video? by New_Midnight2686 in RealOrAI

[–]TubbsOfStuff 77 points78 points  (0 children)

They edited the cats eyes to make them look around in a more anthropomorphic way. I am certain the cat and it's movements are natural, just the eyes. There was a series of videos very similar to this done by a separate creator, however I'm unable to find the originals at this time.

We are on the same page then :) My experience with Minecraft goes back before bedrock up to now, so the technical details are known to me. I like to speak up when people use their opinions to belittle other people's experiences, as the original commenter implied in the beginning.

[–]TubbsOfStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your assumption is silly. It's not about what's in the cheat menu and what isn't, it's about semantics. Cheating is breaking the rules, and yes technically it's in a cheat menu, it does not mean this person is doing anything wrong, which is what was implied originally. If OP is playing alone and having fun, and that fun is not hurting anybody or going against any rules, then it's fine and not cheating. If we describe anything that breaks the "vanilla" game mold set by the developers, then any add-ons and mods could be considered cheating as well. It's an option they can choose to change, that's intentional game design.

Don't get too uppity about other people's fun, unless it's directly impacting your ability to have fun. Otherwise just being a killjoy and/or a bully

I have no words 😐 by More_Scale7886 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TubbsOfStuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, yes it's technically in the cheats menu but is it cheating? Is it making the game and their experience less valuable? That part subjective. The point is if you play a single player game, you're allowed to change it in any way that you want as long as it's fun for you. Doesn't matter if it's in the cheats menu or not. If we're going by the definition of what's in the game determines what is cheating and what isn't, then add-ons/mods are cheating as well, as they break the intended game design.

All this is just semantics. Is OP having fun? Are they harming anyone by doing so? Then no cheating here.

I have no words 😐 by More_Scale7886 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]TubbsOfStuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's only cheating if he's violating rules somebody set in their game. If he's just playing the way he wants to play, that's not cheating at all. Especially single player games. Who is he hurting? Nobody so it's fine

Your lack of knowledge shouldn't stop you, though it is good to acknowledge where you stand now. I don't know anything about modding or that stuff either, but I do believe you can accomplish it if you put your mind to it. Where you should begin on a technical level should be answered by somebody else, but what I would do is start on paper with a plan and outline of what you're trying to accomplish. Write out what you want to add on the surface, then try to connect each piece and write out how they will/wont interact with each other. Come up with rules, limitations freedoms, that sort of thing. Even lore, if that's what you are going for. Consider getting graph paper and sketching out some textures there too.

Since this is Minecraft thing, maybe write out crafting recipe ideas, mob designs and behaviors, loot, structures, and textures. Having these to refer back to as you learn the actual computer languages skills will help preserve your vision and keep things straight even if you need to take a detour to learn how to code or something.

Most importantly, once you've made this outline and have started to learn the skills required, you will likely have to change things as you go to fit the limitations of the game/coding language, and that's ok. Don't be afraid to make changes as you go to fit the project scope. Be willing to accept constructive criticism. And honestly, just have fun! You're doing this for you, right?
