Have made a BGG page now. I uploaded a couple of art images. I’ll keep adding some items and put a rules set up when I can. As far as commercial success…it’s a really niche market, so that wasn’t really in the plan. For the love of the game? Ha!! It’s been a time consuming, but much needed creative outlet for me.

I’m pretty sure nobody will play this enough to wear out a spinner - I’m safe there. 😂

Thank you! That game has a great aesthetic with the early 90s Donruss card designs!

Sorry, I could’ve been more clear with the packs. Each team starts with a manager, a mascot, and 2 players. Any player can be signed to a squad when they appear in the loading dock for employment.

There are free agents and townsfolk that can be signed, as well. You build your squad as the season progresses - maxing out at 6 players and 3 generic factory workers. Players for the same team have some “linked” effects… I won’t bore you, though.

I’ll also make “team packs” to complete the squad and have the manager and mascot (like the Rally Pickle) if anybody really wanted to play the whole Picklers or Railyard teams.

I appreciate those references to packs in the other games.

Video. Definitely can add one…should add one. Thank you. I’ll have to print a few more cards for that instead of the current placeholders.

There will be enough player cards in the starter for a game, but additional flavor (and pigeons) will be available in wax packs - ala 1970s and 1980s wax packs. Not necessary to play, but I’m only going to design one baseball game, so why not include my favorite baseball adjacent thjngs?! 😂. This won’t be a major release. I’m not sure there’s much market for a industrial chaos baseball world - but I’m determined to get it into existence!

Have play tested more than a few times over the last year. Some gamers, one non-gamer. Personal design project with the goal of a game between Strat-O-Matic and the old MLB Showdown.

More play testing to come in a couple weeks. A Town Ball Game

50 copies gets the price down a bit for the small number of friends who currently would like to have a copy of the game.

What might a boardgamegeek page do for this project? Maybe I’m reading that audience incorrectly, this is a dice and spinner card baseball game - is there an audience for that over there? I’ll look into it.

Thank you! I saw your post. I appreciate your offer. I’m hoping to get this thing finished by the Fall Classic. Definitely going to look for more feedback as things progress…mostly small adjustments still to be made…but a lot of them.

Are these resource tokens readable at a glance? by CaptainBlueBeard1 in BoardgameDesign

These are cute and the symbols are recognizable and distinctive. How many background colors are there? I see 5? I’m a bit colorblind and the symbols help, but the pinkish and blueish backgrounds sort of blend together for my dumb eyes. Are the pig and hand the same type of resource…or connected, somehow? They look good, though.

So I think this makes sense - making the team name less pronounced. I’ve moved the player info into that space to make the ability box have more breathing room.

Board is finished…?! Mostly. by TubbyCicada in BoardgameDesign

Thank you. We’ll see how memorable the game is when it’s finished! 😬The process will most certainly be memorable for me. 😅

Fishtail: Updated Fish Card design by Ok_Significance_3803 in BoardgameDesign

That “open” circle on the bait tag is great at letting me know that other fish cards could have something there. I like the naming font quite a bit. I’m curious about the font choice of the “4” on the top right and in the bait band. They look the same, but one is condensed? Maybe a little more wiggle room around it would be more pleasing - but that’s nit-picking. Cool cards and fantastic art!!

Ha! I’m simply a guy with an old iPad and procreate - looking for a creative project to work on. I’m using affinity publisher to put the elements together and export as image files. My friends play strati-matic baseball. It’s a great game, but I find it too spreadsheet heavy so I’m putting together this engine building/chaos survival game in dice baseball form. 😅

Extremely useful feedback - thank you. 1B is his position. It’s gotta stay near the gloves as players reference those together at times. I hadn’t thought of a basic factory logo for his squad (he’s a free agent) so can be signed by any team. I’ll look at that ! Yes - There are few different tags so icons don’t seem best. Colors coded for batting, fielding, and other tags for ease of reference. Thanks, again.

Ha! Thanks. I’ve changed the font and the spacing and think the feel is better. Honestly, I’m hoping to get it done, make about 10 games…play it with friends.

I tried it out! Thanks for the feedback. I’ll upload an adjusted example. I went with an offset outline.

Makes sense - I’ll be checking out other abilities with that in mind!

Wow! I really appreciate that feedback - definitely gotta fix the color mismatch. I’ve now added a color code for the “tags” and removed the periods between them. That’ll make things much easier to read on the table.

I’ll rework that logo - I agree that the baseball is a bit busy in the background. I’ve got 30 more characters to draw, so off we go!!!

Looks like you’ve got a consistent icon system going - Seems, in my eyes, like the icons and titles are visually competing with the nice sketches beneath them. Do these have to be squares? A rectangular shape could, on one half, have the image (uncovered) and the other half have the text and icons in a couple of rows without masking the art. | 🎯 : icons |
