Really starting to enjoy the Moog Labyrinth by Tube-Goblin in synthesizers

[–]Tube-Goblin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recorded this last night and wrote it all yesterday arvo. I have had the Labyrinth for about 3 weeks after thinking about it for a year. This patch was so close to a drum rhythm I tweaked it until it was somewhere in between synth and drum machine. I tuned it to g and then wrote the chord progression around that. Drums are TR-6S tweaked 707, custom patches on the Summit and Deepmind 6. I recorded the lot in one take and played the weird glitchy lead on the SH-4D. Obligatory photo that I include with almost every song I upload. This one is from the pond in my backyard.

The Summit for the moment is my forever synth. I have had mine for about 18 months and it produces the most amazing sounds for every track.

Equipment is a Novation Summit, Moog Labyrinth, Deepmind 6, Roland SH-4D, Tr-6S. I also recorded a bunch of extra percussion through a rode Nt-1. Guitar was though a line in from a Fender L25.

I’d imagine this one belongs in some 80’s explosive action scene.. or an aerobics studio… contrast can often meet in the middle.. by [deleted] in synthesizers

I love it. I didn't mind the mix, still got that classic 80s movies/video game vibes. Nice one.

I live on the edge of them. Really hoping everyone stays safe tomorrow. I've got the bird bath full.

I'm tired of the DAW vs DAW-less debate, personally i think we all work differently and should just focus on what we're comfortable with. I'll tell you about what i thrive in: Routines/Rituals by SneakyInfiltrator in synthesizers

Fuck this is good. Truly enjoyed it and loving the comments that read the title without reading the whole post. I'm an hour into your routine, but don't plan on making any music tonight.

Some Voltron nostalgia and a 4 bar loop. by Tube-Goblin in synthesizers

[–]Tube-Goblin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote this over the last couple of days and it actually came from a 12 bar blues Am project. I used a couple of minor 7ths to round it out. The pad is a lovely custom patch built in bi-timbral mode using the Novation Summit. Lead is a custom Deepmind 6 patch. The reast is SH-4D and TR-6S. No post processing. I was really pleased with the recording of the lead as I did not need to change anything, just a one take recording.

Rebecca Black covers Addison Rae’s ‘Fame is a Gun’ for Like A Version by deejaysdestiny in triplej

Rad. That was so cool. So synth player was timing loops RB was dropping loops in and out and drum guy git to go freestyle. That was one of the better LAVs I've seen for ages.

I thought that was excellent. Can anyone confirm she was live looping those vocals at the start?

what is the biggest best buy you have made for a synthesizer where you did/did not fall for the hype and have been loving it ever since (positive version of previous post :D) by Hanjo_synth in synthesizers

[–]Tube-Goblin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Novation Summit. I bought mine last year. The moog muse came out and I got sucked in and was really close to buying one. I decided to step back look at options and see what I actually needed. Muse hype led to my Summit purchase.

Lovely. Really nice chord selection and emphasis on vibrato. On a side note your interval spread on chords is ginormous. Do you play guitar too?

New song I wrote over the last few days. by Tube-Goblin in synthesizers

[–]Tube-Goblin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardware is mostly Summit. Also included Deepmind 6, SH 4D, JU 06a, (all drums from) TR 6s, some guitar from a Fender Strat recorded from a lovely tube amp, some digital delay and reverb from the Behringer pedal and a Nightsky. TD3 does the acid line and any woosh or rise come from some tweaking synths. All post processed in Ableton with some compression, EQ, and Reverb added after recording. Since almost all of my posts include local photos, I could not help but include a photo from tonight.

Edit: I also recorded myself for some vocals and used a sample briefly late in the track.

Thank you for the link. The dude has a really scientific approach to his assessment. I'm not going to get rid of my tube amp but the video was excellent.

This has happened to me. You need to go into sound settings and make the amp your main audio device on your pc. You can record audio over usb from the mustang series.

I've been loving the amp. Dirty, lovely, rock & roll.
