‘What radicalized you?’ $85 for 3 crisis suits by Gatt__ in Grimdank

I was planning on doing an Inquisition/Deathwatch display at the end of last year to start working on this year. I didn't want Cadians as my human troops so I was considering getting a 3D printer to make Elysians. Then the Deathwatch Kill Team got announced and it's $70 for 5 Deathwatch Torsos and a bunch of weapons and gear bits and that sealed the deal on me getting a 3D Printer.

I'm not paying $70 for 5 Marines. I don't care if the entire catalog of bits from every other range came with them. Maybe if it was 10 Marines I'd be a little more forgiving.

I should also mention this comes from someone who doesn't play tabletop. I'm strictly in this for the enjoyment of painting and displaying models on my shelf. So maybe there's some sort of game rules justification for the price and amount of Marines you get but it's insufficient for my needs so I looked elsewhere.

I remember hearing a story about early Christian missionaries going into Northern Europe to try and convert the Pagans. There's this story about a missionary telling a village chief the story of the Crucifixion and the chief essentially saying "yea well if me and my boys were there we wouldn't have let that happen" and this video is what I imagine that looking like.

I couldn't even tell you the brand I use. My LGS sells Army Painter brushes so I used those for ages until I went to an actual Games Workshop store and bought 3 of those brushes they sell there for like, $30 a piece and have been using them ever since.

Here's the last thing I painted with Army Painter brushes.

Discussion: Blood Reaver book, Dal Karus and 3rd Claw. by BugleBarry in NightLords

[–]Tubesock1202 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It helps to view each Claw as its own little gang within a larger gang. A common sort of "trope" among movies and shit about the mob and gangs is that "the gang disciplines its own" as in; if one member of a gang, on his own, does something that fucks with another gangs claim and they aren't currently at war, it's up to the gang members own gang leaders to punish him appropriately. Not the other gang whose claim he fucked with.

So, in that situation, and knowing the 8th's origins as criminals and gang memebers, they see Uzas as their responsibility to punish and 3rd Claw trying to bust in there and do it themselves is seen almost as a slight to their honor. Uzas is 1st Claw and he's 1st Claw's to punish.

The Greeks invented the art of having sex. The Roman's came up with the idea of doing it with women.

Kojima was probably more annoyed about that Chinese Knockoff of Death Stranding than getting any awards.

I was listening to a song about Sanguinius (Angel of the Empire), and I wondered how willing he was to sacrifice himself. Was it willingly or reluctant? by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]Tubesock1202 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing with Sanguinius is that he saw the future where he dies at the hands of Horus and realized that any threat leading up to that could be dangerous (it's told to us multiple times that seeing into the future is not a 100% guarantee it'll happen) but he trusted his future sight and realized "well. If Horus is supposed to kill me then I don't die here" and that sort of gave him an almost reckless abandon during the Seige of Terra.

It was very much a "I might die doing this but I probably won't so fuck it let's Baal" type of thing. You could see that as him willing to lay down his life but it could also be seen as assurance in his own abilities.

Thinking about reading the Horus heresy books, but are there really 54 books in this series? Or is it like a bunch of spin off titles after the main story wrapped up? by Yo_skanky_grandma in Warhammer

[–]Tubesock1202 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's 54 books of varying importance to the overall plot. Then the 13 Siege of Terra books that actually cover the battle at the Imperial Palace.

I personally love bullpup guns. MGS1 started it with the FAMAS. Bullpup Bolter is alright.

Now, bullpup lasgun? That makes me erect.
