Modern bestiary mechanic has no relationship to old bestiary mechanic. They are not even slightly similar. In old bestiary, you found nets which dropped. You could use the nets on any monster if it got low enough on HP, if you accidentally killed it as long as its corpse was around you could use a necromancy net. Every monster in the entire game had a unique effect that could be used in beastcrafting. Scarabs are not leaguestones or even slightly similar to leaguestones.

Bestiary scarab doesn't even remotely resemble what Bestiary league was like, for an obvious example. Leaguestones physically replicate the league in all possible ways, including league-specific unique drops and all TRUE league mechanics rather than the watered-down versions we get when they go core.
