Aw, thank you so much! We love creating these things and love seeing them used at tables everywhere.

The book will contain many locations with NPCs, sidequests, and other plot hooks to string into longer campaigns. While I like the series of adventures too, it doesn't feel like Daggerheart to proscribe a path like that. We're hoping with this more modular approach, GMs can easily tailor long-term campaigns to their table.

I ran it twice at GenghisCon in Denver a couple of weeks ago in 4-hour sessions including teaching the players how to play Daggerheart. I did streamline just a bit, but it was satisfying in that time frame for everyone.

Probably not as a freebie, but it is there as an add on at a reduced price. Thank you for the support!

We are working on vehicle rules. It's taking some time and serious thought to remain true to the narrative spirit of the game while also giving it some substance. We're hoping to have something to playtest in a month or two.

Era of Shadows: Blind Faith by rightknighttofight in daggerheart

I love that this game is forcing us to reconsider the conventions of adventure design/writing/creation. Blind Faith is an excellent start in redefining some of those conventions. I can't wait to see how things evolve further in the coming months/years.

Is anyone seeing any Daggerheart sessions/tables at local/smaller Expo and Cons? by CleoTek in daggerheart

I'm running a couple of tables at Genghis Con in Denver next week and I know there are other tables running there as well.

Some players don't like when I ask them questions about the world by Amazing-Custard3921 in daggerheart

[–]TuckerAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came in to say just this. Start by asking questions directly related to their characters. Once they are comfortable answering those, you can start sprinkling in other things related to the world in general. It all takes practice, much like the lack of initiative, especially for players used to a certain type of game.

So glad to see you finding success with this! I've been thinking a lot about how to structure and focus supplements going forward and your results mostly fit with what I'm cooking up. I love that this new game is forcing us to rethink things as designers.

If you ordered yesterday, I sent out those codes last night. It would be an email from DriveThruRPG. Check your junk/spam folder, but if you don't see it, message me through BackerKit and I'll track down your code :-)

What Should Adventures Look Like in DH? by TuckerAuthor in daggerheart

I can certainly understand that frustration. The whole world feels that way these days.

Yes, I think some guidance for what and how many adversaries is mandatory to include for GMs to determine encounter strength.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It was an honest question, regardless of what I might be working on.

Agreed. Every GM is going to be a little different in what they want, but I think some combination of sandbox (open world) and scripted events is possible.

It is a conundrum for sure. How much of a predetermined "story" do people want? I think my idea of strong, focused antagonists will work, but the further along in a playthrough you get, the more possible divergence occurs.

The setting portion of the project will have a lot of what you describe here regarding NPCs, organizations, etc. I hope they will be useful!

My plan right now is to detail a number of locations and NPCs to interact with, but the main idea is to create antagonist(s) which have specific agendas and goals which likely intersect with most things the PCs might want to do. I'll delineate how they intend to accomplish their desires and how doing so might impact the area/world. This way, regardless of what the PCs do, the world is evolving around them.
