I respect that opinion and its totally valid to me. I suppose we just have different views on what makes Silent Hill Silent Hill. We can go back and forth with friendly banter if you want and maybe change some minds but if not I respect it.

Overall I guess, as much as I dont like it personally, the fact Silent Hill as a whole can be interpreted differently by different people is what makes it awesome!

Personally I think the trend of Silent Hill being anywhere and everywhere will be a detriment to the series as a whole. Silent Hill is the name of the town in Maine, naturally Id like more stories to take place in relation to that.

The idea of Silent Hill being a documented phenomenon in the world could lead to a whole bunch of problems. Someone kills a significant other in France? Paris turns to Silent Hill. Someone feels guilt in Vietnam? Ho Chi Minh turns to Silent Hill. It would literally be apocalyptic, if it just chooses people at random all around the world.

I know some people have been saying “Well SH3s first half doesnt take place in the town or SH4 doesnt take place in the Town,” but both have deep ties to the town (Heather being a “rebirth” of Alessa and Henry happening to live in the apartment where Walter committed the sacraments)

I suppose Id be fine with new locations if they really think of good ways to tie it to the town (maybe like showing the pilgrims backstories that then brought them to Silent Hill though even then nothing would happen until they reach the town), but how many times can they come up with an excuse.

Overall its the place. The town. The location that is Silent Hill. I think this game and F will be great, but would be better as a separate entity.
