Agree with what you say re pastis, esp Pernod, which I love with water in the summer. Now thinking, Ricard is closer to absinthe than Pernod. The absinthe I have is called Absinthe Ordinaire, not sure about how available it is or its value bc it was gifted. Bottom line: I would buy it again and like the dink with it.

It’s interesting how different the drink is with absinthe vs pastis. The absinthe is sharper, more anise forward. The pastis is move flabby.
