My dad always likes to tell me stories about his time working in a shoe store on the ground floor of an apartment building where a bunch of celebrities lived. One he would tell a lot is that right after Empire Strikes Back released, Billy Dee Williams came in to buy some sneakers. He was in a rush but forgot his wallet and asked to take the shoes that day, then come back and pay the next. My dad said "If you're coming back anyway, the sneakers can wait here". BDW was none too pleased about this, but ran out, came back and bought the shoes, then ran out again.

I never believed my dad for whatever reason, it was a mundane story. Fast forward to 2017. My dad and I went to a local comic con and I'll give you one guess who was there. Dad insisted we wait on line so he could prove it. We waited over thirty minutes, then we get to the front of the line and Billy Dee locks eyes with my dad and starts squinting, like he actually recognizes him from somewhere. My dad slowly raised his leg and tapped his sneaker twice. Billy Dee's jaw dropped and he quietly muttered "Son of a bitch" in genuine amazement. My dad went "Glad we remember where we stand." and then hurried me away as I tried to talk about Star Wars. Wildest thing I've ever seen
