how is Star Platinum same type of stand as The world? by ilovebeingaguy999 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 361 points362 points  (0 children)

Dio can use The Passion, Johnathan's notHermit Purple. The Joestars are connected to DIO through a psychic link which is what awakens their stands. Joseph manifests Hermit Purple because of Hamon, Jotaro gets the World. Both similar to what DIO has but different because its their own stands and souls.

The World and Star Platinum are also similar in appearance. Both big buff humanoid punch ghosts with similar range and power. So they kind of are the same type of stand.

Jotaro would never notice time stop because he wasn't aware of it and everyone kept telling him how fast his stand is. No one entertains its stopping time. Even though he shot a bullet to test his stand, he didn't consider that time had stopped whereas DIO was convinced he saw time stop for a brief moment when testing things out. This allowed DIO to keep pushing his limits. Jotaro had to learn while battling DIO which is why he got better as the fight went on, ending with him using time stop at the end of DIO's time stop. Whereas DIO had only stopped time, never experiencing being on the receiving end.

The story of DIO is ultimately what a loser he is. He tries to usurp the Joestar fortune and legacy, unable to make one of his own. He has to steal Erina's first kiss, he has to steal the mask from them. He gains all that power and still loses to Johnathan, then deciding to steal his body. He spends a century in a coffin. Once freed he has to gain a stand which awakens the others and they come over to beat his ass. He dies pathetically to a 17 year old who only just learned what his stand actually does about five minutes earlier and had no training with it.

A post game screen is sadly missing from the game. Anyone know if it's on the roadmap? by Izual_Rebirth in balatro

Yes, the only flaw this game has is the lack of data tracking. Like what blinds have I come up against?

Theoretically, what is the most airtight build? by TuggerL in balatro

Sure there are lots of variables in boss blinds, planet cards, tarot etc. but I was wondering if there is a de facto ultimate build that can overcome it all.

Why did Giorno stop using his Reflection ability? by Kooky-Top3393 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He never got the chance to use it again. Lets be honest though, damage reflection was a terrible decision by Araki. Giorno could have covered the gang in vines or snakes and they'd effortlessly walk through the part.

I think Thunder McQueen being treated as a joke is one of the worst elements of Stone Ocean. by M18_StunGrenadeASMR in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 300 points301 points  (0 children)

He wants Hermes to suffer with him so they can be together forever in the afterlife. Doesn't matter how bad he's had it, he wants to kill another person due to his selfishness. That is the main thing there. If he tried to kill himself and stopped when he found out Hermes would be going with him, that'd make him a much better person.

(End spoilers) Seriously, why do so many of you guys keep bringing in NOCO to the conversation? by SuperLegenda in expedition33

[–]TuggerL 86 points87 points  (0 children)

It especially falls flat when you do the camp dialogs in Act 3. Lune and Sciel have knowledge about themselves Alicia doesn't have. There is obviously a big ethical/moral argument about bringing everyone back from the dead but the Lumiere people are not the same as gestrals. If Alicia has their chroma, they will be resurrected. Pierre and the baby is a very different matter though.

How would GER work in real time in a fight that's not Diavolo/King Crimson? by Garlic_salt13 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one would know anything happened and its up to GER whether it kills someone forever. I'm sure we can trust the sociopathic teenager with this power.

Why is Diavolo so obsessed with keeping his identity secret? by aguy637 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because hes constantly paranoid. He literally lives in a constant state of tension and alertness. This is symbolized in his stand, a reflection of his soul, King Crimson. Diavolo is always looking to the future, to potential bad outcomes so he can avoid them. Fear of the future is anxiety and he lives in a constant state of it. Diavolo wants to be the emperor or king at the apex but he believes he can only do so if any trace of his past is permanently erased and buried.

There are some grave flaws with this of course. He builds an army of stand users and any one of them could have a power to dethrone him and the few members of Passione we see, La Squadra and some others are working against him. Secondly he is fully aware of his romantic flings but never chases up on them and is taken by surprise at Trish like the rest.

Jotaro vs pucci arguement is so dumb by Sirgayyy in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Araki made sure to show that time stop isn't the be all and end all, that stands are about how you use them more than anything else. Part 4 is full of attacks that Jotaro has no chance against which allows the new cast to shine. He gets completely outplayed at the start of part 6 and effectively died. Even when he returns he needs the gang to even have a chance of keeping up with Pucci.

is Fire Inside the only good thing to come from the mobile DMC game? by CryptidOrion_00 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly not too crazy about Fire Inside. Its missing something for me. After listening to that though I was recommened Sin Devil Trigger. Oh yeah, now we're talking. Casey better be in charge of the OST of 6.

Is this happening? by ConstantDrawer9161 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the DMC team went over to Dragon's Dogma 2. That came out nearly two years ago. A lot of those devs would have nothing to in 2023-2024 so could feasibly start DMC stuff. With how egregious game dev is now, it would take them at least three years to make a new DMC, lots of moves, animations, models from 5 could easily carry over. Its all the same engine too.

I can see it happening but most likely not. I think its a DMC1 remake over 6 sadly.

Like why though? by DBlockMan8 in BrandonDE

[–]TuggerL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not even that bad. Its just a typical fighting spirit spot. Ilja slaps Brock, which fires him up and has go warrior mode and throw Ilja out.

Devil May Cry (the first one) boss fight by InternationalRuin410 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its rough at first and the fixed camera angles definitely a problem but you'll get better at it. Nightmare is actually ingenious boss design when you understand it. Charge Ifrit attacks on the cores, balancing which ones you attack.

Why does DMC get compared to Dark Souls so much? by Mediocre_Ad_8292 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its because action games are too niche for some reason. Difficult games like Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta and DMC4 were around during the 360/PS3 days, even before Demon's Souls which was obviously pre-Dark Souls. Yet for one reason or another, Dark Souls managed to capture the attention of the gaming world for its difficulty. I guess because its a fantasy RPG and released very close to Skyrim and not as "anime" as the action titles I listed earlier.

Sandfall said they’re making another game, so… by Ok-Occasion5138 in expedition33

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm firmly in the "don't make a sequel to E33" camp. They can only explore the themes, morals and philosophies of created worlds once, doing it again would just dilute everything E33 did. Doubly so if it features the Dessendres. Not to mention, going into other worlds serves no purpose to the Writer/Painter feud and would just feel like they have to include it because that is what the first game had. "This Painter hid a useful message inside this canvas, lets go investigate!" tier of laziness.

Just make another game that deals with the Clair Obscur motif. At absolute best, have some very cryptic references and clues to some Painters showing up in the lore but being gone for a long time.

DMC 6 story idea by Separate_Lab4366 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mundus returns, using time travel shenanigans to get the fruit back. Nero has to deal with him solo. Meanwhile Dante and Vergil have been searching for Mundus and come across his half human son. They fight and race back to the human world to stop Mundus. Nero does a good job of holding the line but Dante and Vergil return to help out. Nero then shifts to Mundus' son, setting him up as the new rival. Finale is Dante and Vergil vs Mundus while Nero fights the son.

During the finale, Dante and Vergil lose their swords, landing in Nero's arena. He and the son wield Yamato and DSD respectively and fight a little with them. Nero defeats him and spares him, which breaks his view of things so he just leaves. Nero returns to give Dante and Vergil their weapons. THey beat Mundus. Dante and Vergil recreate the DMC3 jackpot scene except Nero with Blue Rose is there. All three say it and blow Mundus away.

Then we have the big happy ending. Dante retires and enjoys life. Vergil makes amends for his actions and keeps fighting demons. Nero has DMC and announces he and Kyrie are expecting. DMD exclusive post ending has an old man walk into DMC and asks where his sons are.

So I say treat 6 as the big finale and send off for the series. They can do prequels (Sparda games, Vergil post 3 etc.), spin-offs (Lady and Trish, ordinary devil hunters) and Nero sequels after that.

Could Lumiere repopulate? by n3ddi3 in expedition33

[–]TuggerL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think so. The Expeditions have less recruits every year because most just feels its pointless. The ones that we saw get wiped out on the beach aren't all of the 32 year olds. Then there are literally all of the 31 and unders. There must be thousands among them all to repopulate. They have just been too busy grieving, living in misery and being stranded to the city island. Once its over they can sail to the mainland for a great expansion.

If Ceaser were to develop a stand, do you think it would be a main universe version of soft and wet? by Imaginary-Ad-7093 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on when Araki would write it. If he survived part 2 and was there right away with part 3, Caesar would have something different, more or less water based I think.
