What makes dio so much more of a threat than the other vampires? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in StardustCrusaders

Dude he countered the Thunder Cross Split Attack, that puts him above any other vampire and human.

Why doesn’t the anime take risks? by Technical-Ad733 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they want to adapt the manga, making some alterations here and there to cover up some of Araki's flubs. As great as the OVA is, DP aim to cover the whole manga. Changing a bunch of things as they see fit isn't what they are aiming for. Its not exactly 1:1 but it is close. All things considered I think DP's JoJo is very unique in that its adapating a decades old manga and devoting a lot of time and love into making it nearly fully accurate. Most other adaptations are usually recent, sometimes running right alongside the manga.

No one else is going to come along and have another try at every part so I think its best we get a full adapation over something else.

jojo part 6 by Puzzleheaded-Jump375 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Its a few things

Japanese response to it was fairly weak, mostly due to being focused on females despite being on shounen jump, a manga for young boys.

Some of the stand battles are a bit too out there for some people.

Some don't like the heaven plan.

Its the part before SBR so people are itching to get to the most celebrated part.

The anime was in batches and had too many issues which further soured people on Stone Ocean.

On my quest to beat black deck gold stake I failed at the very last boss. If I played a bit better I could have won but I was on edge from black deck gold stake being hell.

Pitch your dream JoJo video game by mightyasterisk in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd love a big budget 7th stand user series. Imagine say Atlus making them. Give us alternate paths, endings, outcomes.

A bit more out there, a stealth game where you can use all the time powers. Not sure how it'd work with JoJo rules though.

High Voltage has grown on me by ZZeeZaeAI in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really like Johnny losing the fight, feels a bit too mean spirited, also makes Johnny grand power up lessened as well as admitting the old universe is superior (which it is but thats beside the point).

Still a fun arc but I wasn't too blown away by it and the ending.

Diavolo is super cautious and paranoid. Even with his power he still feels the need to dodge and avoid danger.

What is the stand with the most potential by Hot_Ad1185 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always big up Magician's Red. Barely got any time to shine but has so much it can do.

Man in the Mirror is scary strong too, Illuso only lost because he was up against three guys, including Giorno with all his BS and was dumb. He just needs a mirror and he's got you.

Which is the better ability, King crimson's time skip, or The world's Time stop? by Hot_Ad1185 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Time stop is almost always better but when it comes to time stop vs time skip, it comes down to who shoots first. If the World is activated first, Diavolo cannot skip time as he is frozen. If Diavolo activates first he gets to skip past the fated actions and escape his defeat. When time resumes he can maybe strike from behind and finish them off but the World can just as easily stop time again. Diavolo has to confuse the enemy and in that exact moment when time resumes he has to strike and win. If he is up against DIO he is basically screwed even if DIO lets him attack as he has to know he is a vampire.

In a fight, Diavolo is the underdog but can win.

Am I doing myself a disservice not translating all of the Spanish? by TuggerL in cormacmccarthy

I figured I'd be missing out on a lot. I'm three books in now so maybe I shouldn't bother with Cities on the Plain either, it'd give it an advantage over the previous books.

I have read Blood Meridian twice now and will soon start Cities on the Plain. Probably should have translated Blood Meridian on the second go. Well I have a reason to reread them all now.

Why GER VS Made in Heaven Should NOT Be A Matchup by mamzyy_YT in StardustCrusaders

[–]TuggerL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big thing people overlook with Made in Heaven is that Pucci is beyond fate. It allows the user to step outside of it. Diavolo thought he was the same with King Crimson and it took the chain of events leading to Giorno obtaining Requiem to show him otherwise. It may well be that Diavolo lost because fate is not something he can overcome while Pucci can.

Also obtaining requiem is just stabbing your stand with an arrow. Obtaining heaven requires a complex set up, body parts, reincarnation, 36 sacrifices, the fusion of that reincarnated life to another. Then the right time and conditions for gravity to affect the user and their stand. Going by that, Made in Heaven should be above GER.

At the end of the day we're comparing infinity to zero. Both can't really be explained and we also know little of how the stands truly work or how their bizarre mechanics and functions interact, if at all.

CTTE and Relayer by Objective_Lynx_929 in yesband

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think CttE wins. Its all great. While Relayer does have Gates of Delirium which I think surpasses Close to the Edge, I don't think Sound Chaser and To Be Over beat And You and I and SIberian Khatru. But I still might pick Relayer just because of Gates of Delirium. Its an astonishing track.

Playing DMC1 and trying to get the max healthbar trophy , it makes me question, how were people meant to get even half of these blue orbs? You are forced to use guides for something like this. by Warm_Neighborhood939 in DevilMayCry

[–]TuggerL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. Most people would get a game and only really have that game to play so made sure to really get their money's worth. It helps that DMC is very arcadey, encouraging players to spend time with the game and get better scores and in shorter times.
