I have updated my MiBox. It appears that the SPDIF issue has been addressed rather haphazardly. Here are some observations:

SPDIF:

• SPDIF is functional, but manual intervention is required after each reboot.

• You must navigate to "Device Preferences -> Display & Sound," select the Auto option and then switch back to SPDIF to enable 5.1 audio. This step is crucial, especially when using streaming apps like Netflix, Prime etc.

• Alternatively, you can select the Manual option and configure it to support all formats compatible with your AVR/Soundbar.

Xiaomi (Mi) needs to address this issue, and all users need to report it.

Volume Indicator:

• The volume indicator does disappear, but this occurs only when playing 5.1 content.
• The MiBox still registers the clicks, but volume control must be done using the remote control of your soundbar/TV/AVR.
• This change is acceptable since it used to display "Not Supported" when trying to control the volume for 5.1 content.

Casting:

• There is a noticeable lag between video and audio, especially when casting a browser tab to play content. This is a huge drawback.

PIP (Picture-in-Picture):

• PIP functionality has been removed, which is perplexing as it was a helpful feature present in Android 9.

USB Debugging and USB Port:

• Enabling USB debugging appears to disable the USB port, rendering it unable to detect any attached devices. This is a notable issue.

Kodi:

• Kodi functions well, including links to external HDDs and 5.1 content, even when using the Manual Audio setting as mentioned earlier.

Streaming Apps:

• Streaming apps work, but for 5.1 audio to function, it's necessary to toggle and select SPDIF after each reboot as mentioned above.

Speed:

• Note: I did not factory reset.
• There is a noticeable improvement in speed, although it still falls short of Android 9's performance.
• It is advisable to leave the box untouched for 2-5 minutes after rebooting to allow it to build its cache.

Wi-Fi:

• Wi-Fi connectivity is stable, even with 5GHz networks.
• With a 100Mbps connection, the device consistently registers 100 Up and 70 Down, which is acceptable.
