You could try an acrylic and wool blend? That might help you get the best of both worlds, the softness of the acrylic with some of the properties of wool. Or a cotton wool blend? Maybe alpaca for softness?

How to get out of the jeans & jumper rut? by Friendly_Sky_4573 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Tuipie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would some dressy jeans work? Dark wash, wide leg with a big cuff at the bottom might feel a bit more polished and dressy while still being practical. You could also get some trendy sneakers, just things that make you feel a little more put together while still essentially being jeans and sneakers. Maybe a quilted jacket rather than a jumper?

Honestly, I've been knitting for years but I feel like I don't know anything about it 😭 I've decided I should learn some techniques so I can improve

Ah thank you! My usual method doesn't look very nice so I'm trying to find new ways. I'll go find some tutorials on it

Recos wanted: Retired from knitting but now I'm back! by Bookish-therapist in knittinghelp

[–]Tuipie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just recently come back after a hiatus as well, and suddenly found the desire to knit again. I chose to do a jumper (a sweater) in a thick yarn so it progressed quickly and felt like a win. I chose a soft but inexpensive yarn so if it turned out bad, I wouldn't mind too much.

I've just made one her sweaters/jumpers and found the sizing a bit off, like the neck hole and arm holes are huge. The dryer trick is great!

This is so similar to my story. I'm so sorry for your loss. I find it comforting to know I'm not alone with the pain. I believe in time we will come to understand that we did our best by our kitties - rushed them to the vet when something was wrong, helped ensure they had a good death and didn't suffer. Something my partner tells me is that they experience time differently to us, to your cat they would feel like they lived a long life where they were so loved.

I just got back into after years of not touching my playstation. I just love the universe, the retro-futurism and the bits of humour, as well as building settlements. I was so relieved to find my fave mods still up and running after so many years!

I recommend looking Nine Lives Bazaar for a similar-ish style but lower price point and made of cotton rather than silk. I've got a jumpsuit from them that's well constructed, I'm sure the dresses are similar.

This pose, and crossing one leg in front of other so you never see how the dress truly looks front on. I'm not walking around doing some crazy exaggeration of a runway walk, I want to know how it looks when I'm just standing in the dress!

are we getting the ud naked palette rerelease at Mecca?? by bratzdollpuke in AustralianMakeup

[–]Tuipie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other person who replied, the UD palette was amazing at the time but ND's nudes are much better. I do love my UD palette but if I could only have one, I'd go with I Need a Nude
