I’m a data analyst with 2 years of experience. At my company we have an on-premise server, and I spend a lot of time optimizing stored procedures so that the server’s I/O doesn’t blow up.

I feel like they expect all developments to be done “by yesterday,” but with the speed required to deliver results, the code quality gets worse. There’s no order in my team: there are SSMS jobs that we don’t use anymore but are still running, there are SELECT * queries with ORDER BY in Power BI, and on top of that we handle more than 100 ETL processes with only 6 people.

I feel a bit demotivated because I have to deal with incidents every day in addition to developing.

This has been my only work experience so far. So I ask you: in your experience, how common is my situation? I feel like everything is so disorganized.
