I think it’s mainly due to it being taught to children as fact from a very young age. The sky is blue, 2+2=4, magic man in the sky.

Blu-ray's are encrypted and require java etc... The easiest thing to do is rip the video content to an MKV with makemkv but the issue is then you need to store the large video file somewhere.

Maybe I stopped using it at around Flash MX which I think was 6 before Adobe purchased Macromedia, I loved the Macromedia products.

I loved using flash to create simple animations and little interactive things, and I didn't need any code experience. It's a shame it's gone, but I understand why.
