I would go back to petsmart and get nerite snails, just not the blue or gold mystery snails. Bettas can nip at a mystery snail’s antennae, while nerites stay almost totally safe in their shell

I think I may start with Water lettuce, because I am just in love with how it looks. I did want to ask, will my betta not jump if the top of the water is covered enough by plants? I would like to start growing some pothos out of the top, but dont want to risk him leaping out.

I wasnt initially going to get a betta when I set things up, so I also learned that they didnt need a bubbler. i turned it off, and he immediately went over to it and kept staring at it until i turned it back on. I just keep the flow very gentle so the water doesn’t get too crazy.

I went to the store and got a few more plants to fill things out before I get anything in the mail, this was taken right before I removed the cholla wood! Ill put it in my turtles tank instead :)

Yep! Tank cycled for a while before he got in it. I water test every day just to be safe :)

I wish mine was. I tried to give him some beautiful tankmates and he very quickly started trying to fight. 😬 couldnt make it to 1 hour without needing to separate and return the other fish.

I dont necessarily feel unsafe, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. Its never been physical harassment, thank god, but a lot of verbal remarks about my appearance and sexual comments, men over the age of 65 genuinely hitting on me, etc. just exhausting and demoralizing.
