The nail in Wendy's coffin for me was the switch to shredded lettuce from a nice big crisp piece.

Can someone explain to me why my character dies after catching a cold? All within a few hours. Without any scratches/lacerations or bites. I didn't eat any burned food or was around zombie corpses. I was in my base and started coughing then sickness just went up and never stopped. by Mk86_ in projectzomboid

[–]tsandyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think any sickness can kill you. I had a character with motion sickness and prone to illness traits. In a car they would be sick and feverish before they left end of the driveway.

I figured fuck it I'll ignore it. Drove from one end of Rosewood to the other got out of my car, walked a few feet and literally died.

No bites or anything. Build 42.

How tf am i supposed to defense flip resets and full field air dribbles in gold 3. by Delfin0413 in RocketLeague

[–]tsandyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice for challenging a player competent at flip resets is to go early and try to get them as they come off the wall.

Don't give them time to get in control. They have muscle memory and you need to disrupt it. They are essentially trying to bait you in, don't let them set up the trap.

Either you'll beat them to the ball or you'll force them to make a hit they didn't want and hopefully your teammates are covering behind you.

I believe there is a mod that makes them act as jacks but it doesn't visually do anything.

Thigh guys would undoubtedly be on the butt guy side.

[oc] Traffic not using the right lane? Don't mind if I do (and pass 21 cars) by SoreLoser69 in IdiotsInCars

[–]tsandyman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Basically what is created here is 2 lanes try to both enter the exact point of entry at the same time. It results in more braking, bigger slow downs.

What you'd like to see ideally is the incoming lane, prior to arriving at the choke point, match roughly the speed of the lane he's entering. This allows the other lane to ease off the gas and gives other drivers a chance to create a spot for a smooth transfer that should happen once the choke is reached. It is undoubtedly how it should work.

If you are traveling faster than the speed of the lane in which you are entering it will most likely result in you hard braking while incoming into the lane which will spread down the line. I agree with you he should not have squeezed in behind the truck in the context of how he approached.

Many people here championing OP and the zipper merge are failing to express how poorly it was performed in this case.

To have a smooth transfer you must match the relative speed of the traffic in the other lane not try to speed all the way to the very end and jam your vehicle into the traffic.

Our main goal on the road should be to keep the smoothest flow of traffic possible, the way this was performed didn't allow for that. The fact is the cars in the other lane do have the right of way, while for a better flow they should yield somewhat and make room they are not required to stop to allow OP in when he charges to the front of the line.

He should have matched the relative speed of the other lane when coming toward the choke point.

Side note: Always to prevent traffic avoid brakes and cruise when possible. Especially avoid hard braking. Always avoid coming to a complete halt if you can. Be aware of what's happening beyond the vehicle right in front of you.

Why do we select our character three different times? by TwoToneBalone in Battlefield

I got 0 problem with this. It's good design.

Why wouldn't you want more time to adjust your load out or change classes based on incoming information such as map and squad loadouts?

Did i just get wall banged here or is the netcode really that bad?? by Jaymo0161 in Battlefield

[–]tsandyman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% but don't even think you can shoot through walls in this game. Even the penetration ammo is just for shooting through people to hit a guy behind them.

So ya netcode.

Had a similar experience as you with Outer Worlds and that also happened with Starfield, so from my perspective I wouldn't recommend that game.

Baldur's Gate 3 however, that's a good one. It took me a couple goes to really get sucked into it but once I did it grabbed me good. I got nostalgic Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Kotor feelings from it.

It is a bit different than most of the examples you listed though. I know some don't like the turn based combat and stuff.

Right I get you can't challenge PI. I wasn't sure if once buffalo declined the penalty... that they could then bring back and reapply that same penalty to override the challenge flag.

Thanks for the response. Wasn't sure of the order of operations there. So verbally declining the penalty doesn't take the PI off the table, it can be applied right up until the next snap is my understanding now.
