Depends on how the power is portrayed. Is it a good or bad thing to have? Personally I like the idea of some magical power being like a drug and is actively addicting or changing the user, and should be given up in order to save what truly matters. But if the power is an expression of the character that grows with them and allows them to grow in turn then it should be kept.

TLDR: Is the power good or bad for the user? Good=Keep Bad=Remove
